Motor Party.
Sunday morning about nine-thirty
Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Mathews, Misa
Tavia Mathews, Miss Johnnie Lou
Smith, Miss Ora Lee Gamp, Miss
Edith House and Mr. John King left
Winder in Mr. Mathews’ Cadillac for
a day’s outing in the mountains.
Splendid time was made and quite a
number of historic and interesting
towfcs were visited during the course
of the day. The party spent quite
a while among the wonders of the
beautiful Nareoochee valley, going
from there to Cleveland, Cia., on to
Demorest, through Cornelia to Mt.
Airy and White Sulphur Springs.
Several interesting mountains were
climbed. They returned by way of
Gainesville and reached heme with
out a single mishap. The entire trip
trip was delightful and quite keenly
enjoyed by those composing the par
ty.
Missionary Meeting.
The‘Womans Missionary Society cf
the First Methodist church held an
unusually profitable ..and interesting
meeting at the church cn last Mon
day afternoon. A deep feeling ol
sadness prevailed throughout the
session, for each one present felt
the great loss tl at the society has
sustained in the death of Mrs. G.
W. DeLaPerriere. She was so close
ly identified with every department
of wofk that her plcae will be ex
tremely hard to fill. But He whe
gave His tired worker rest, called an
other consecrated Christian to take:
up her work.

was enjoyed by those present.
Dinner Party.
Miss Grace Jackson entertained at*
dinner on Tuesday evening compli
mentary to Miss Mary Biles, of Albe
marle, N. C., who is the guest Miss
Grace Graddick this week. Dainty
dinDtr /covers were laid for six. The
centerpiece was of pink and held a
handsome vase of pink carnations.
At six-thirty a course dinner was
spread. Only a very few friends were
invited.

The B. Y. P. U. will have its regu

September Term, 1916, thereof, the
undersigned, as receivers of the es
tate of the late John A. Segars, de
ceased, for the purpose of distribu
tion in accordance with the decree
rendered in said Court, will offef for

terms hereinafter stated, before the
Couit House door of Barrow county,

inducing Mascns, and Odd Fellows,
and with the sale ol this store room
will go an undivided one-half inter
est in said offices and hall above.
These farm lands are rented for
the iOi.7 to good tenants, and
possession thereof can be bad by
the first of 1917 subject to the rent
contracts now existing.

the year 1917, and possession of it
can be had from first of tiie year
1917, subject to the rent contract.
The terms of the sale will be as
follows: One half cash and the re
mainder in one year \With eight per
cent per annum on the deferred pay
ments irom January 1, 1917, except
as to lot number one, known as the
Segars home place, containing 8!
acres, more or less, and the terms
of sale as to this tract will be one
third cash and the remainder in five
years, in equal annual installments,
bearing interest at the rate of 8
per cent per annum from January
1, 1917, the installments payable No
vember 15, in each year.
These lands are to be sold for the
purpose of distribution in accordance
with the decree of Barrow Superior
Court entered at the September
Term, 1916, with reference to the
estate of John A. Segars, deceased,
in the cause of J. W. and J. J. Se
gars, Receivers of said estate. This
