Hon. and Mrs. Josiah Blasingame
of Jersey announce the engagement
of their daughter, Amy, to Mr. Ralph

occur early in December. •
To Miss Biles.
Two delightful affairs given to
Miss Biles during her visit here were
the sewing parties given on Saturday
afternoon of last week by Miss India
Niblack and on Monday afternoon by
Miss Marie Smith. On both occa
sions the living rooms were used for
entertaining and were very cozy and
comfortable looking, with lots of
cushions, ferns and sewing racks.
Salad courses were served at six on
both afterpoons. Only a few guests
were invited.
Dinner Party.
One of the most artistic affairs of
the past week was the informal din
ner party given on Sunday evening
of last week by Mrs. F. C. Gfaddicl
to her daughters Misses Grace ano
Mae Graddick and their charming
guest, Miss Biles of Albemarle, N
C.
The table was beautifully arranged,
holding in its center a delicate piece
of fine embroidery and a tall vase
of. pink chrysanthemums. Dainty co>
ers were laid for six. The place
cards were quite charming and ii
keeping with the delicate pink ano
green of the chrysanthemums and
their foliage. An eight course din
ner was served. The guests were
Miss Mary Biles, Misses Grace and
Mae Graddick and Messrs. Chester
Moore, Gus W T illiamson, of; Jefferson
and Paul Autry.
Junior Priscilla Circle.
The Junior Priscilla Sewing Cir
cle was entertained by Mrs. L. W
Hedges at her home on last Thurs
day afternoon. The living room was
comfortably arranged for the guests
and was the scene of nimble fing
ers and busy needles for more than
an hour. At six a dainty salad
course with hot tea was served.
The members present were Mes
dames Grover Mosly, Robert Arnold,
Homer Smith, Clyde Williamson, J.
B. Parham, Edgar De Ija Perriere,
Jeff Segars, *Rcy Jackson, Herscliel
Smith, H. A. Carithers Jr., Robert

Hodges, the hostess.* There was
one guest, Mrs. James Goldsmith oi
Atlanta, who for the past week has
be'en the guest of her sisters, the
Misses Niblack.
Sharp Points Entertain.
Miss Lillie Belle Robinson was
hostess to the Sharp Points at her
home on Athens St. Friday afternoon
The large living room was made de
lightfully pleasant with a cozy fire
and a number of fresh flowers and
potted plants. For quite a while the
guests were busy sewing. Then a
most delicious salad course with hot
chocolate was served. The hostess
was assisted in entertaining by her
mother, Mrs. W. T. Robinson. A
number of friends were invited be
sides the members. Those invited
were:

Unique Autumn Pterty
On last Friday evening from eight
thirty to eleven Mr. and Mrs. R. O.
Ross opened their liospitible home to
a bunch of “us boys and some of
our friends. Through their kind
permission the reception rooms were
beautifully decorated with autumn
leaves and potted plants.
The punch bowl, made unusually
attractive by its autumn decorations
filled a cozy corner in the dining
room. The autumn scheme was quit
successfully carried through the oc
casion.
On arriving the guests were ear
ried to the punch bowl, which prov
ed a popular and much frequented
l
spot during the evening, both by
hosts and guests. Progressive con
versaticn and a number of old-fash
ioned games proved a source oi
enjoyment to all those present.
At eleven a most dainty and de
licious salad course with hot choco
late was served. Mrs. Ross was
assisted in entertaining by Mrs. W.
H. Quarterman, Mrs. Rheba Yonder
leith and Mrs. S. T. Ross.
There were fifteen guests. They

W. C. T. U. Reception.
The local chapter of the W. C. T.
U. has issued invitations to a for
mal reception given at the First Christ
ian Church on Friday evening, the
17th. to all Sunday School superin
tendents, the Winder School faculty,
the pastors and their wives, and all
other ministers of Winder, the Beard
of Education and the husbands of
the W. C. T. U. members. There
will be a short musicale and in con
culsion a brief literary program.
All interested are looking foward to
the occasion as one of the most bril
liant of the season.

are at the head of this movement,

BOX SUPPER AT CARTER HILL.
On Saturday night of this week
there will be a box- supper at Car
ter Hill for the purpose of raising
money to finish paying for the
church organ. The public is cor
dially invited and a large crowd is
expected.
