Mr. Smith was sixty-nine years of
age and a life-long member of the
Methodist Church and a loyal citizen.
He was one of those, pleasant, genial
gentlemen of the old school who scat

acute indigestion.
The body was brought to Winder
Wednesday and laid to rest by the
side of his wife who had preceded
him to the grave only a few years
The funeral services were held at
the Winder Methodist Church and
were conducted by Rev. Jno. F. Yar

the local pastors. In accordance
with his request, made only a few
days before his death the choir sang
“Face to Face.”
Mr. Smith was the father of four
children, three of whom are left tc
mourn his departure. They are Mrs.
Buchanon deceased; Mrs. Mamie Wi
ley and Miss Birdie Smith of Deca
tur, and Mr. J. W. Smith oi Albany,
Ga. His little grandson, Glenn Buch
anen, lived with him at Decatur.
His brothers are J. W. Smith, of At
lanta, and Robert Smith, of Carl. He
was a cousin to R. A. S. P. and
