THE WORLD SHOULD STUDY
THE COTTON SITUATION
From the Manufacturers Record.
With corn at $2 a bushel and wheat
at $2.25 and over, with farm labor
Abating two or throe times as much
as formerly, and everything else on a
proportionately higher basis the cost
of cotton* production will for a long
time to come be much higher than
ever before.
The old day of low-price labor and
loweost cult on has gone forever.
The old economic chains of the all
cotton system have been broken and
gone to the scrap heat), never again to
be forged.
But the world is hungry for cotton.
The supply of cotton goods has been
steadily wearing out for five years,
and now the world must Ik* reclothed,
just as it must be fed from its famish
ed condition.
High prices of cottith as compared
with former years must inevitably con
tinue because of high cost of produc
tion. Moreover unh*ss prices are high
enough to have a stimulating effect
upon cotton production the world will
continuously need a very much larger
supply of Southern cotton than we have
ever raised except in one or two years,
though for soon* years our crops have
been very small and this year promises
to be exceptionally so.
As labor and foodstuffs and iron and
steel have been lifted by the war in
flation to a very much higher plane of
cost than in former years so cotton
must inevitably go.
Every man who seeks to lower tlie
price of cotton is ss'king (<> lvermanent
]y decrease tin* world's supply to a fam
ine condition for when once the farmers
of the South have become thoroughly
alive to diversified agriculture to live
stock raising as a business and to the
opportunities of profitable employment
'in industrial pursuits even 40 to 50
cents a pound for cotton will not bring
them back to the all-cotton system.
An Old Fault Kinder
An irritable and fault finding dis
position Is often caused by indigestion.
A man with good digestion and bowels
that act regularly is usually good na
lured. When troubled with indigestion
or constipation take Chamberlain’s
Tablets. They strengthen the stomach
and enables it to perform its functions
naturally. They also cause a gentle
movement of the bowels.
If You Are Going to Farm Then Farm
Where You Can make the most Money
. i * *
Why cultivate land on which you can grow only one cash crop if you CAN sell it for enough to buy twice the number of acres of better land in the most desirable
section of the State in which to live—which will produce AS MUCH COTTON and a half dozen other money crops that are more profitable, and for which there is a
ready market. • •
There art 1 more meat packing houses, more graain elevators, more sweet potato storage houses, and peanut oil mills in South Oeoigia than in any pait of tire
South. These industries provide the marketing facilities which make this the inost desirable section in which to locate in oidei to make big piofits tanning.
Farmers in South Georgia this year are making as much as $500.00 per acre growing tobacco.
Many farmers have moved into South Georgia from other sections during the hist few years who have made enough in one yeai to pay t< >i tlicit i.iims.

Deafness Cannot Be Cured
by local applications, as they cannot reach
the diseased portion of the ear. There is
only one way to cure deafneaa, and that Is
by constitutional remedies Deafness Is
caused by an Inflamed condition of the mu
cous lining of the Eustachian Tube. When
this tube is Inflamed you have a rumbling:
sound or Imperfect hearing, and when It is
entirely closed. Deafness Is the result, and
unless the Inflammation can be taken out
and this tube restored to Its normal condi

cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh,
which is nothing but an Inflamed condition
of the mucous surfaces.
We will give One Hundred Dollars for any
