Col. John s Wet-Blanket
I am very much amused at my dis
tinguished opponent in trying to evade
every issue of importance in his long
and well written address to the voters
of this, the 27th Senatorial District.
It seems that he thinks that he
can spread a wet blanket over
the District and put out the
fire that is burning in the hearts
and conscience of an outlawed constit
uency, by telling them of the little in
significant things he did to the House
of Representatives.
My friend boasts of his great love
for the Constitution and yet he served
two sessions in the House, and never
at any time raised his voice against
the encroachments on our time honored
document. When we were being order
ed as to what we should eat, wear, do.
or speak, he was as silent as a dam.
Every law that is sapping the very
fundamentals of our blood-bought lib
erties, both State and Federal, wfe
passed in the name of the Constitution.
It has been the worst abused and out
lawed document on record. When wom
en and children were denied their own
money to buy bread and were shot down
like dogs it was claimed to be Constitu
tional. “O Constitution how many
crimes have been committed to thy
name?”
He says be is of the opinion we
have too much legislation, yet he would
have you believe he was instrumental

count, and it did not take experience
to do it See!
It’s what has been done the people
are worrying over, and the future fur
nishes our only hope.
He asks the question: ‘‘Do you want
service based on experience and capac
ity?”
I am willing to leave it to the voters 1
if we have not had an over-dose of ex
perience and capacity, such as he has
-xemplified. Experience and capacity,
of a sort, have almost bankrupted our
State and Nation.
I believe the voters of the District
are perfectly willing to try a little
common sense and not so much “Capac
ity.”
After saying much you are left to
guess as to how he stands on the fol
lowing questions:
Are you in favor of minority rule?
Are you willing to be bossed by se
cret committees?
How do you stand on the League of
Nations?
How do you regard Romanism?
Are you in favor of jailing people for

Tires that did not require setting

r
YY/HEELS are the life of a wagon. Hubs, spokes,
* * felloes and tires of the best materials, put to
gether by skilled workmen, go into every Studebaker.
What is the result? Mr. William H. Horton, of Nineveh,
N. Y. writes that the tires on his thirty-six year old Stude
baker farm wagon did not need resetting in thirty years
—and the wagon was in use every day.
We can prove to you that this is not an exceptional
Studebaker wagon. There are thousands of Studebaker
wagons in use today that are forty years old and more.
And that have cost their owners little or nothing for
repairs.
Come in and look over our stock of Studebaker vehicles
Let us show you how well they are built „
