GASOLINE TRAIL
Speed battles such as have never
been witnessed in Dixie are predicted
for those followers of the gasoline trail
who attend the auto races which open
the Southeastern Fair at Atlanta, Oct.

and 26. Entries, while they are not
yet closed, include a half score of
leaders of America's dirt tracks with
the cars In which they have won their
laurels.

champion. Haughdahl's title was won
last year, and many followers of the
game predicted that the little Scandi
navian would never l>e able to better
the marks of last year and prove to
be but a “flash In the pan.” The little
northerner fooled them, with an un
conscious display of Scandinavian hu
mor for this year he has not only brok
en records that have held for years,
but he has bettered his own records
on many tracks. In Canada he recently
established new short distance records
and lowered his own Canadian five
mile record.
Plenty of opposition will be given

by such drivers as Leon Duray, Louis
