Barrow County Grand
Jury Presentments
Barrow County Superior Court, Septem
ber Term 1920.
To the Hon. Andrew J. Cobb, Judge
of the Superior Court of Barrow coun
ty: We the Grand Jury chosen and
sworn to for the Septemt>er Term 15*20
Barrow County Superior <J>urt beg
leave to submit the following report.
Through the committee appointed on
court house, Jail, camp, chalngang,
stock, tools and machinery we find that
they are kept and cared for, as beat
we can see on short visit, as becometh
gentlemen who pride their county and
who are not nshame for their work to
be an open Issik.
Keports Attached.
The books of the Ordinary, Sheriff,
Clerk. Tax Collector, Tax Receiver,
Treasurer, Superintendent public school
and J. I’. and X. I’, are as best we can
detect, legible and neatly kept. We
five made no effort to audit the books
of any of the above named.
Keports Attached.
We recommend that the mail route
from It. X. Pentecost by Hewitt's
bridge to Pleasant Hill church house
to be looked after at once. The mail
carrier will have to discontinue the
mail real soon if the road is not
patched.
It has been reported that several of
our communities are being much an
noyed by immoralities, blind tigering
and high speeding. Therefore we re
commend that the county authorities
put forth more deligeneo in catching
those offenders, if necessary, employ
a detective or county police.
We recommend that the jurors and
bailiffs be paid three dollars per day,
and the foreman and clerk of the Grand
Jury be paid one dollar per day extra.
We tlnd a leak in the jail roof that
we recommend la* fixed at an early
date. We most heartedly recommend
our highly esteemed Judge Cobb, our
untiring clerk, Geo. X. Bagwell, our
go after the offender, *’<>l. W. o. Dean,
Our ever on the elert 11. O. Camp and
his wide awake bailiffs for their kind
ness and help in bringing the offender
to judgment.
We are sorry to find many things
being done in our county of which we
are ashamed and therefore pray for
a co-operation of all citizens with our
officers in an effort to place Barrow
county’s morals on a higher plane.
We most heartedly commend our
Foreman and Clerk for we are sure
few Grand Jury bodies have had a more
"get the offender now” than E. A.
(Starr and a more “on the job” than
X. I). Meadow. Our door keeper, J.
H. Wheeler, showed by his promptness
he was ready to answer the summons.
We recommend that these present
ments be published In each county pa
]**r, Xews and Times, and tlmt ouch
be paid ifio.oo for same.

HOW DOCTORS
TREAT COLDS
ANDTHE FLU
First Step in Treatment Is a Brisk
Purgative With Calotabs, the
Purified and Refined Calomel
Tablets that are Nausea
less, Safe and Sure.
Doctors have found by experience
that no medicine for colds and influ
enza can bo depended upon for full ef
fectiveness until the liver is made thor
oughly active. That is why the first
step in the treaitmcnt is the new, nausea
less colomel tablets called Calotabs,
which are free from tho sickening and
weakening effects of the old stylo calo
mel. Doctors also point out tho fact
that an active liver may go a long way
towards preventing influenza and is ono
of tho most important factors in en
abling the patient to successfully with
stand an attack and ward off pneu
monia.
One Calotab on the tongue at bed
time with a swallow of water —that’s
all. No salts, no nausea nor the slight
est interference with your eating, pleas
ure or work. Next morning your cold
has vanished, your liver is active, your
system is purified, and you are feeling
fine, with a hearty appetite for break
fast. Druggists sell Calotabs only in
original sealed packages, price thirty
five cents. Your money will be cheer
fully refunded if you do not find them
delightful.—(Adv.)
