Social and Personal News KILGORE—LEAN ARD. The marriage of Miss Nellie Kilgore and Mr. T. M. Leonard. Jr., of Reedsville, S. (',, was a se rial event of Wednesday enening at 8:30 oYloek at the home of the bride on Midland Ave. Mr. Paul Leanard, brother of the groom, was best man and Miss Audry Wills, of Atlanta, was maid of honor. The wedding march was played by .Miss Alleen Kilgore and the ceremony was performed by Rev. J. 11. Mashburn, the bride’s pas tor. The living room was beauti fully decorated with ferns and pink carnations. Mrs. Leanard, as Miss Nellie Kilgore was one of the sweetset and most talented young ladies of our city, and comes from one of the best families of Georgia. Mr. Leanard is one of the strong and leading young business men of his state. Mr. and Mrs. Leanard left on the micl-night train for Washing ton and New York. Mrs. li. A. Carithers, Jr., enter tained the Young Matron’s Club and a few outside friends very delightfully last Thursday after noon. The living room and din ing room where the guests assem bled were very attractively deco rated French baskets tilled with graceful sprays of spirea, and beautiful old fashioned yellow roses, placed on mantels and cab inets, and they too, formed the central decoration of each card table. The punch bowl was placed on the dining table, which was beau tifully adorned witli a profusion of dogwood blossoms and was pre sided over by Misses Mary Alice Strange and Lucy Turpin. A the conclusion of the games, a lovely salad course and tea was served. The guests included Mesdames Ralph Smith, I’. A. Flanigan, Roy Jackson, Robert ('amp, B. 11. Jackson, R. 11. (Jraddiok, Misses Pearl Farrar, Mary Alice Strange and Lucy Turpin. Young Matrons Federated Club Entertained. One of the prettiest spring par ties of Hie season was the one giv en by Mrs. Mac Potts to her club on Thursday afternoon. The liv ing room and dining room were beautifully adorned with crab apple blossoms, pink roses, sweet peas, and canary birds singing to complete the signs of spring. On the tables where the games were played bowls of spring flowers and small baskets filled with pink mints were placed. As the guests arrived, Mrs. Mac Potts , assisted by Mrs. W. O. Perry, served punch and waffers. The score cards were painted with ci ah apple blossoms, roses and sweet peas. After a number of games of “500” and music, a delicious salad course was served. Cook was a visitor in Athens Sunday. All the churches of Winder at tended the. protracted services at tlie Christian church last Sunday evening and the large auditorium was completely filled.
