Easter Egg Hunt a
Success.
The members of the Young Ma
tron’s Federatd Club wish to ex
press their appreciation to the
children of the city and also a
number of grown people who
helped to make the Easter egg
hunt a great success. They felt
that every body would he inter
ested in it’s success, as the pro
ceeds were to go towards helping
the sanitary conditions of the city.
The golden egg was found by
Master Arnold Holsenbeck, and
the prize was awarded to him.
Wesleyan Glee Club at
Athens.
Mr. and Mrs. .7. T. Strange, Mr.
and Mrs. A. D. McCury, and Col.
J. A. Perry went over to Athens
last Tuesday evening to hear the
Wesleyan Glee and Mandolin
Club at the Colonial theatre. Miss
Louise Strange and Miss Maggie
Perry, two of Winder’s charming
young ladies, are members of this
Club, the only girl’s school in the
South that has a Mandolin Club.

The W. C. T. U. will hold its
regular monthly meeting Monday
afternoon, April 28th, at 4:30, at

BOYS FROM DAHLONEGA.
Messrs. John AlcCants, Shannon
Smith,Harold AlcDonald and Jack
Alillikin, of the North Georgia
Agricultural college, will spend
the week-end with home-folks and
friends. They will also attend the
district meet at Lawrenceville.
These young men will bring
with, them Jene and Ramond
Brooksehr, formerly of Winder
but now of Dahlonega, and are
expecting a few days of much
pleasure. They are all bright and
ambitious students who will he
among the leaders of movements
for advancement in their section
when they reach the years af ma
turity.

agent, spent a portion of last week
at Westminister, S. C., the guest
of relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Kelly and
Messrs. Walter M. Stanton and
Obe W. Smith spent Sunday af
ternoon at Maysville and report
a delightful trip and pleasant vis
it to that thriving town.
Mr. P. Hofmeister has been
confined to his room for several
days. He has been here about 22
years and counting the work
done at his shop at night after
work all day, he has come as near
as any man in the state averaging
ten hours work for 313 days eve
ry year since coming to Winder.
Mr. Frank Hofmeister, his son is
in charge of his place of business
this week, making changes and
repairs in many ways.
Mr. and Mrs. W. <'. Horton at
tended the funeral of Mr. Willis
Eavenson at < ’oncord church near
Elberton Friday. Mr. Eavenson is
the uncle of our fellow townsmen
A. V. and and R. L. Eavenson, and
was one of Elbert’s most substan
tantial and respected citizens. He
was 77 years of age and a leading
member of the Concord Methodist
church for over 50 years. The
funeral services were conducted
by Presiding Elder (i. F. Venable,
of the Elberton district.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Smith spent
Tuesday in Atlanta.
Mrs. AY. A. Bradley is spending
several days in Atlanta this week
with Air. Bradley.
Master J. B. Cooper has been
sick this week.
Little Mary Alayne is confined
to her bed with mumps.
