IMPORTANT INFORMATION
DESIRED.
The Pension Commission of
Georgia has requested the
Ordinaries and tax - receivers
of the State to investigate and
make lists of those classes of con
federate soldiers and widows re
siding in the several counties who
will be eligible under the Consti
tutional Amendments ratified at
the last elecion to a pension when
the general assembly has amend
ed the pension laws of tlie state
so as to allow pensions to that
class heretofore excluded by rea
son of owing more than $1,500.00
worth of property and the widows
who were married before Janua
ry Ist, 1881.
It is requested that the camps
of confederate veterans and the
Daughters of the Confederacy in
each county co-operate with these
civil officers in getting up these
lists, for the reason that this in
formation will be important to
present to the next general assem
bly so that the number to he ad
mitted to the pension rolls of the
State may he known and the
amount of money that will be re
quired to pay the pensioners for
1920 and the sueceding years may
he provided for. The average pen
sion to he paid will he around
SIOO.OO per capita for each year.
J. W. LINDSEY,
Commissioner of Pensions.
The above information is very
important to all those to whom
it will apply and every one who
can should co-operate with the
Ordinary in getting up a complete
list for Barrow county. No one
entitled to a pension under these
amendments should fail to make
application.

MAYSVILLE OIL MILL BURNS
This morning about 9 o’clock
fire was discovered in the Jmll
room of the Maysville Oil Mill.
The origin of the tire is unknown.
There was no work done there
yesterday or last night, owing to
the failure of the hands to appear.
The supposition of some seem to
think that it caught from a spark
of the passenger train, which had
just passed.
The fire completely destroyed
the main building and the hull
house, including all the machinery
and a large quantity of hulls. By
the heroic work of a number of
our citizens the seed house, which
contained a large amount of seed
and the gin house were saved.
The loss amounts to about
s2o,ooo.—The Maysville Enter
