PERSONAL NEWS Mrs. Ralph Smith Hostess. One o£ the enjoyable occasions of the past week, was the picnic given by Mrs. Ralph Smith to the members of her Club, and other friends, at the Fair grounds. After an hour of interesting games, a picnic lunch was served and a large number of Mrs. Smith’s friends were present on this occa sion. Miss Mary Quarterman Gives Party. On last Thursday afternoon, Miss Mary QuartermM gave a matinee party for Mr. Henry Bradley and his guests, Messrs. Franklin and Cleghorn Toole, of Atlanta. Quite a number of her friends enjoyed this happy occa sion. Rev. Richard AV. Wallace, of Valdosta, was the guest of Mr. Claud Mayne Tuesday night. Mr. L. M. Mayne, who has been quite ill, is up again and consider ably improved. Mr .and Mrs. G. C. Moseley are on a visit to Mr. Moseley’s par ents in Cordele. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Mathews and a party of friend* spend ing the week at Savannah and Tybee. Miss Ada Hancock is spending several days at Savannah and Ty bee Island. Miss Lena Hill, of Bethlehem, lias been seriously ill, but is now convalescing. She is a sister of Mr. Jim Hill, of our city. Dr. Adams, one of the leading physicians of Barrow County, was in Winder Tuesday, £r„j his Beth lehem home. i' 1 Little Ruby Hcseh, baby dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Hosch of Bethlehem, died Monday night with dysentery, complicated with Whooping Cough. Prof. J. L. Moore, of Bethlehem, was in Winder a short while Mon day. Mr. John T. Perry was on tlfe sick list last week. Mrs. W. H. Faust and daughters Hilda and Marietta, and Miss Mil dred Thrasher, are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Faust, of Lexington. Miss Viola Hughes, of Cordele, spent last Tuesday with her cou sin, Mrs. Thelma Baugh. Messrs, lloyt and Cecil Moore spent several days last week at Watson Springs, in Greene county. Dr. and Mrs. AV. Smith left Tuesday night for a three weeks visit to their parents. Mr. and Airs. T. B. Smith, of Tal botton, Ga. Aliss Rose Dillard and Air. Pike Hutchins spent last Sunday at Nachochee Valley. Aliss Icie Smith is the guest of Aliss Erma Hancock, of Jefferson. Air. T. AI. Furlow, of Jackson, spent the week-end with Air. and Mrs. Alac Potts. Mr. Ruben Franklin, of Coving ton, spent Sunday here with friends. Rev. and Airs. AV. 11. Faust, Hil da Faust, Miss Alildred Thrasher, and Airs. AV. AI. Holsenbeck, have returned from a ten days visit to Ah's. Faust’s home in Alaryland. Miss Hattie Patrick spent the week-end with her mother, who is ill at their beautiful country home near Alonroe. Air. AV. A. Brooks spent several days here this week with his fam ily Airs. AV. TI. Quarterman and daughter, Alary, left Friday for Savannah and Tybee Island, for a two weeks stay. Aliss Annette is always greatly missed in Winder society when away and her many friends were glad to welcome her back. Mr. F. Hofmeister spent last Sunday in Athens with his son. Air. Frank Hofmeister. Miss Alary Lou Segars returned to Atlanta AVednesday, to accept a position with Quaker Oats Com pany. Rev. O. A. Smith, of Jackson ville, Fla., preached last Sunday morning at the Christian Church. He is Sunday School Secretary for the Southeastern States and spoke on “Religious Education.” Airs. Sanders preferred charges against Air. Frey when his bulldog killed her cat in her millinery es tablishment.
