FEDERAL SUPERVISOR AT ATLANTA AND MACON s Federal Supervisor to Demon strate Grain Grading at the South eastern Fair at Atlanta Oct. 13 to 18 and at the Georgia-Florida Fair at Valdosta Nov. 3 to 8. In order that farmers, country grain dealers, millers, county agents, and other persons interest ed may have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the correct methods of grading grain under federal standards for •wheat, shelled corn and oats. Mr. K. It. Seeds, Federal Grain Sup ervisor, will conduct grain grad ing demonstrations in connection with the Combined Agriculturtl Exhibits of the United States De partment of Agriculture at the Southeastern Fair at Atlanta Oct. 13 to IS. and the Georgia-Florida Fair at Valdosta Nov. 3 to 8. At this demonstration a fully equip ped grain inspection office will be arranged, with exactly the same equipment and appliances that are used by the licensed grain inspec tors in the large markets and offi ces of Federal Grain Supervision. Samples of wheat, shelled corn and oats will be handled in tlie same way as in actual inspection to show how the grades are deter mined. A more limited and less expensive set of equipment which has been suggested by the F. S. Department of Agriculture, as convenient to apply Federal grades at country points, will also be shown. Til order to make the demon stration thoroughly practical, farmers are invited to bring sam ples of their grain to the demon stration booth in order that fac tors that determine the grades may be indicated on their own grain. Department of Agriculture relating to grain and grain grading will he distri buted and photographs will he on display showing various phases of Federal Grain Supervision work. The importance of these demon strations has been emphasized be cause the U. S. Grain Corporation is requiring the proper application of the Federal grades by country buyers iu order to properly re flect the guaranteed price sche dule to the local points. Properly applied grades insure a premium grade for premium quality wheat. The object of the demonstra tion is to enable local wheat buy ers to be fully informed as to the requirements of the official grades in order that they may correctly apply them, and that the farmer he properly informed as to the farmer be properly informed as to the grade requirements covering application in order that he may know whether the country is cor rectly grading his grain. New Orleans, La., September 23 —The address of Representative Champ Clark was the outstanding feature of the convention of the Associated Advertising Clubs of the World on Tuesday.
