Notin' is hereby given by the Mayor
and Council of the City of Windor to
the qualified voters of said city that on
tho T>th day of April, 1020, an election
will he held nt the City Hall, in said
city, to determine the question whether
or not bonds to the amount of $17,000
■hall be issued by the City of Winder,
the proceeds of which, if issued, are
to bo used for the purpose of extend
ing the sewerage svstef of the city.
Said bonds, if issued, will be in the
number of 17; of the denomination of
*I,OOO each; shall bear interest nt the
rate of 5 per cont per annum from date
of iasuo and payable semi annually; no
part of the principal shall be paid an
nually but all of said principal shall
become due and shall be paid off at the
expiration of twenty years from dale
of issue; all of said principal and inter
*st shall be payable in gold coin of the
United States, at the office of the City
Treasurer.
Said election shall be held by the
Minn persons, in the same manner, and
under the sumo rules and regulations
as elections for tho municipal officers
of said city are hold, Htul the returns
thereof shall be made to the Mayor and
Council of said city. At said election,
all voters who desire to vote for the
issuance of said bonds above described
tihnll have written or printed on their
ballots the words “For Sewerage Ex
tension Bonds’’; and those desiring
to vote against the issuance of said

their ballots the words “Against Sew
erage Extension Bonds. ’ ’

and Council of the City ol Winder to
the qualified voters of said city that on
the sth day of April, 1920, an election
will be held at the City Hall, in said

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS.
Sealed proposals will he received by
the undersigned, Ordinary of Barrow
County, Georgia, at the office of the
Ordinary at Winder, (in., at 11 o’clock
A. M., on the 12th day of April 1920,
for the furnishing of till labor material,
equipment, and other things necessary
for the construction of 6.542 miles of
road between the Jackson Connty line
and the Walton County line.
The work will consist of 1.184 acres
of clearing and grubbing; 2H189.1 cubic
yards of common exeavntion; 1092 cu
bic yards of rock excavation; 17756.4
cubic yards of top-soil surfacing; 907.5
lin. feet of 15 inch pipe; 497.5 lin. feet
of 18 inch pipe; 377.5 lin. feet of 18
inch pipe; 155.6 cubie yards of concrete
in headxvalls; 56.01cubie yards of class
“A” concrete; 9.59 cubic yards of
class “B” concrete and 4118 pounds
of reinforcing stoel.
The said work shall begin on or about
the Ist day of May 1920, and shall be
completed within 120 working days.
Plans and specifications arc on file
in the office of the Ordinary of Barrow
County, Winder, (in., in the office of the
State Highway Engineer in the Walton
Building, Atlanta, Ga., and in the office
of T. I*. Wright, Project Engineer, 406
Walton Building, Atlanta, Ga.
Plans and specifications may be in
spected at the above named places by
prospective bidders, or same may be
purchased from the Project Engineer
for $8.50 per set.
Said work will he paid tor as the
work progresses, to wit: 85 per cent
of the amount done in each calendar
month will be paid between the 10th
and 15th of the succeeding fouth and
the remainder shall be paid within 30
days after final completion and accept
ance.
Proposals must be submitted on reg
ular forms which will be supplied by
the undersigned, and must be aecomi>a
nied by a certified check, or bidders
bond, for five per cent of the amount
bid.
Bond will be required of the success
ful bidder as required by law.
The right is reserved to reject any
or all bids and to waive all formalities.
