Winder, were visitors here last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thompson
of Missouri are spending a few
weeks here and other places in
Georgia with relatives.
Mrs. K. S. Harris. Evelyn and
Jack Harris represented Baptist
church at the annual Sunday
school convention at Center Hill.
Miss Helen Arnold spent last
week end in Lawrenceville where
she was the guest at a house par-
ty.
Mrs. -I. -I. Hunt, guest of Mrs. R.
S. Harris is spending a few days
with her father, Mr. -I. M. li.
Smith, near Monroe before return

Miss Ada Y earwood, accompa
nied her uncle, Mr. Bruce A ear
wood. to his home in Columbia,
Miss. to spend a few weeks.
Mr. Yearwood was a former
resident of this section but had
been away for fifteen years. Ho
has many friends who welcome
him on his short visil.
Miss Ida Lee Ross of Statham.
was a week-end visitor here.
Mr. Krasins Mathews returned
to Camilla Thursday after a week
spent with his mother, Mrs. Mat Il
eus and children remained for a
longer visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Sammons of Dacu
la, were guests oi the latter s
brother, Mr. \V. C. Yearwood. and
family.
Mr. K. L. Yearwood. of Madison
spent a few days with home folks
last week.
Misses Viola Hughes of Cordele
is spending a few days with her
grandmother. Mrs. Fanny Moore,
and other relatives.
Mr. Sam Thompson and son of
Wenoiia spent Saturday with his
nephew. Air. Bennie Moore.
Mrs. Minnie Smith and Dr. and
Mrs. Harris were guests of Mrs.
R. S. Harris Sunday.
DEATH OF MRS. W. T. BROWN
Great sorrow came into Ihe home
of Mr. W. T. Brown last Sunday
evening when death visited them
and took the wife and mother.
Mrs. Brown was siek only one
day. She was stricken late in the
afternoon with acute indigestion
and died in an hour.
She was a good wife and moth
er. gentle in disposition and loyal
in every sense to Tier home and
family. She will me missed in
her community and the loss to
her community and the loss to her
home seems irreparable.
Besides her husband she leaves
a baby, one day old and eight, oth
er children.
-This community sincerely sym
pathizes with the family. May the
Father of all direct and comfort
them.
Rev. .1. < \ Harbin conducted
the funeral services at Bethel
church where interment occurred,
among a great concourse of rela
tives and friends.
NEW CHRISTIAN CHURCH IS
ORGANIZED CAPITOL VIEW
Anew (’ln-istian church was or
ganized at (lapitol View Sunday
night following a two weeks'
evangelistic campaign by Rev. Ow
en Still ami Rev. •loci B. Hardi
gree. Twenty-eight charter mem
bers are on the roll, and it is un
derstood that Rev. Joel l>. lfardi
gree will resign his present call
ing and become the pastor of the
new church. The revival will con
tinue throughout the coming week.

Revs. Owen St ill and Joel B. liar
digree are two of the splendid
products and fine characters
claimed by Barrow county, both
being reared here.
They have a large circle ot
friends in and around Winder who
are deeply interested in them and
the great work they are accom
plishing.
Such young men are valuable as
sets to a country and help to make
the world better.
