AUTOMOBILE TIRES
Experts estimate that 40,000,000
automobile tires will he manufact
ured in 1920.
Recently an automobile trade
journal figured that assuming each
lire traveled 4.000 miles, the total
annual mileage traveled by tires
in 1920 would be equal to 320.000
round trips between the earth and
the moon.
Producing appoximatelry one
quarter of the country’s tire pro
duction. The Goodyear Tire & Rub
ber Company will manufacture ap
proximately 8,000.000 tires this
year. Figuring on the same aver
age mileage per tire, the total dis
tance traveled by tires made by
this company would equal annual
ly JO.OOO round trips between the
earth and the moon.

THE SOLICITOR GENERAL
RACE.
Four years ago Solicitor Dean
said on his Campaign Card:
“It has been the custom in Wes
tern Circuit since 1904 to allow
the Solicitor General one term of
four years.
“Tribble held four years,
AYalker four years.
Gamble four years.”
I ask for four years.”
The voters of the Circuit took
him at his word, elected him and
retired Air. Gamble.
lie has now had the four years
be asked for.
Air. Dean gives as Lis excuse for
running again—for it. is no valid
reason—the fact that the office was
put on a salary basis during his
term and he says. “The income de
rived from the office reduced to ap
proximately Half. ”
The salary was placed at $5,000
a year.
Mr. Dean then lias received for
1 year, 7 months and 18 days un
der the old Fee system “approxi
mately” he says, and lie knows,
because lie has received the mon
ey, the sum of $16,333.00
And 2 years, 4 months and
12 days of salary 11,833.00
.) total for his four years
of $28,166.00
Air. Dean advocated the salary
system and, having received the
sum as above shown by bis own es
timates. should not now complain.
If the pay has not been sufficient
why’want the job any longer?
Why not pass it on to another
who would appreciate it?
I will thank you for your vote
and active support at the polls on
Sept. Sth, in the Primary.
Very respectfully, yours for ser
vice.

FORDSON
Farm Tractor
The Fordson cuts the cost of preparing land almost to half of what it
cost with horses. But even more important is the fact that the Fordson saves
from thirty to fifty percent of the farmer’s time. And time saved—getting
fields in shape to plant in the proper season; getting things done when they
should he done—means money to the farmer. Besides it solves the labor prob
lem.
As ever, the machine way is proving more efficient, faster, easier than
the old hand way. In the factory, the machine‘increases production, saves
labor —produces more at loss cost. And that is what the Fordson does on the
farm. The Fordson way is the machine-way of farming. Besides it solves the
labor problem.
The Fordson\s first cost is the lowest in the market; and the after or op
erating cost is lowest, It is a compact easily handled tractor, backed by the
greatest tractor service organization in the Fnited States.
We are Fordson dealers. Not only do we sell Fordson tractors, hut wc
carry a stock of Fordson parts and employ Fordson mechanics to help the
farmers get the best results from the Fordson.
