HOSTESS SATURDAY
AFTERNOON.
' A lovely party of last week was
Saturday afternoon when .Miss
Montiue Robinson was the gra
cious hostess to the Bachelor Girls
Club and a few friends. Bright
summer flowers were used as ef-
decoration,
d’uneli was served as the guests
arrived. “Bunco” was played
during the afternoon. A delicious
salad course was served.
The guests were Misses Mabel
Jackson. Sadie Harris, Desina Ri

SEWING CLUB.
Last Thursday afternoon Mrs. 11.
A. Perry delightfully entertained
the Junior Priscilla Sewing club
and a few friends.
The guests were entertained on
the spacious porch which was
very inviting. Sewing was the
delightful diversion of the after
noon. A delicious salad course
was served.

MRS. BROOKS ENTERTAINS
One of the most enjoyable
events of the summer was the love
ly party last Friday morning, com
plimentary to her sister. Miss Slo
cum of Edwards, Miss. As the
guests arrived they were served
delicious punch and after a series
of “bunco” a tempting salad
course was served. The guests

BAPTIST LADIES AID
SOCIETY ENTERTAINED.
On Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Mac
Potts, Mrs, N. J. Kelly and Mrs.
Robert Arnold were joint hostesses
to the Baptist Aid Society which
met in the church parlor at three
o’clock. After Ihe business ses
sion a social hour was enjoyed.
Cream and cake was served.

Miss Gladys Harris, who leaves
next week for Valdosta to enter col
lege, was honoree at a six o’clock
dinner Wednesday evening, given
by Mrs. L. A. Fort son at her home
on Woodlawn Avenue. Coveys
were laid for Misses Gladys Harris,
Frances Hubbard, Louise House,
Margaret Walker. Elise Starr and
Edith House.

L. 11. Reid was the cordial hostess.
Auction bridge was played during
the afternoon after which a deli
cious refreshments were served.

his condition is better, although
confined to his bed, his physician
considers his general condition im
proved. He is at the home of his
parents in Nashville, Tenn.
Dr. and Mrs. L. W. Hodges have
returned from a moonth’s stay in
Roanoke, Ya., with friends. Dr.
Hodges was in college sever
al years ago. While on this visit
he visited the local hospitals there
and witnessed a number of serious
operations performed.
