address outlined the purpose of
the meeting.

CONSERVATION MEETING
On last Thursday afternoon the
Young Matrons Federated Club
held their regular monthly busi
ness meeting at the home of Airs.
W. (). Perry on Stephens St. At
the January meeting the members
of the club Avere asked by the Con
serA’ation committee, Airs. AV. A.
Bradley as chairman, to conserve
in some way, by bringing to this
meeting made-over garments
which had been discarded in years
gone by when Ave were not think
ing so keenly about conservation
as AA*e now are. Much to thesur
prise of each one, all had Useful
and some really beautiful articles
to show for our efforts. I Avill
only mention a feAv of the many
things, such as hats, dresses, sheets
skirts children’s dresses, aprons
made from discarded shirts and
blankets made into comfarts.
Each member Avas an inspiration
to the other and many neAV ideas
were conveyed on the occasion
showing in just horn many Avays
we could conserve. There were
four beautiful dresses, one made
over Avith a very small cost by
Airs. Clyde AATlliamson, one made
by Airs. Alice Dunn from a coat
suit Avhich had been used for sev
eral seasons and another by Airs.

sum, also a child’s dress by Airs.

ments were served. The club
members were enthusiastic in their
praise and appreciation of the en
tertainment furnished them by
the Conservation committee and
the generous hispitalty extended

she is to make her home in Rome

has been called as pastor of the

METHODIST TRAINING CLASS
ORGANIZED
At an enthusiastic meeting at the
parsonage Alonday night the new
training class of the Alethodist
church Avas organized 'vith 32
members. Air. AI. C. A\ iley Avas
elected president of the class and
Mrs. Howard Rogers, secretary.
Rev.L. AY. Collins gave the intro
ductory lecture on the first book
selected in the course which is
“Life In The :ia;.ii. 0 .” The
course covers two years, but an in
complete diploma is given for com
pletion of one year’s study, and
visitors may take any of the sepa
rate books that will he studied.
Rev. L. AV. Collins is superin
tendent of teacher training and re
ports a great deal of interest in
this Avork. Rev. J. B. Gresham is
organizing a training class in ca*-
ery church in the Bethlehem cir
cuit, and this makes Barrow (’min
ty Alethodism one hundred per
cent efficient.
