HALE OCCURRED WEDNESDAY. Mr. W. F. Hale died at his home in West Butts Wednesday. The bur ial was at Towaliga Thursday. MR. W. J. KITCHENS PASS ED AWAY WEDNESDAY 9. Mr. W. J Kitchens died home near Jenkinsburg Wedncffljley and was buried at Jenkinsburg Thursday. Mrs. J. R. Wright and Miss ADnie May Thornton returned from Atlanta Monday afternoon. Frank Cox was down from Atlanta Monday. Quite a number of Jacksonites saw Buffalo Bill’s Wild west show Mon day. Mr. L. A. Hollingsworth who mov ed from here to Conyers, and who is now a resident of Atlanta, was in the city Wednesday. Smith Settle and Willie Pitts New ton went up Monday to Atlanta to attend the Buffalo Bill performance. Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Beauchamp were given a spin Sunday morning by Dr. K, A. Wright made a flying visit to the Gate City Friday. Bob Henderson and “Scrap” Thorn ton spent Sunday afternoon on the branch digging doodles. The all-day Sacred Harp singing at Saudy Creek Sunday largely at tended and was muchly enjoyed by all. Airs. A. H. Smith, and Mis3 Tallle Jolly spent Friday of last week in tho Gate City. The preparations hove all been fin ished and tli© State fair opened Thurs day in Atlanta with everything ready. The agricultural exhibits are the best ever seen, and show up fcho re sources of the best sections of the state. —ThuTuahufacturers display is complete and is worth anybody’s money to see. Some very fine horee racing is scheduled to take place dur lcS the fair, in fact tho best that has ever been seen on a local race track in the South. Altogether the Fair promisss to be the beat in all departments, to say nothing of the midway which is out of sight, _ Air. and Airs. E. M. Lawson from Flovilla were in the city Sunday. Protracted services will begin at the Methodist Church next Sunday The pastor will be assisted by Rev. Erase of Gainesville. Dr. and Airs. R. A. Franklin expect to spend Saturday and Sun day in Barosville with the former’s parents. We are selling skinned haras at 16c per pound. 12lb to 171 b average. We get 20c for single pounds. J. Bledsoe died Mon dayjat/ the home of Mr. Bledsoe father five miles north of town. Mrs. Bledsoe had been in bad heaith tor quite a while and her deatn was not a surprise to her relatives and friends. She was a daughter of Mr and Mrs. Cornelius McClure and had nianv friends among those who knew her. The funeral services and bnrlal were at Macedonia Tuesday Morning.
