Personal and Local A Little Gossip About the Doings of Folks You Know and Don’t Know Mr. C. S. Maddox is ill with grip. Mrs. W. P. Collier is on the sick list. Born to Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Coppage a boy. Edward Taylor made a flying trip to Jackson Tuesday. Mr. R. H. Calvert spent the day recently in Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lawson were in Jackson, Saturday afternoon. Miss Agnes Bryant of Flovilla, is the guest of Mrs. Jim Watson. Mrs. R. A. Maddox is in Hawk insville on a visit to her mother. Mrs. Jim Valentino of Atlanta, is visiting homefolk in Jackson. Boyd McMichael spent Sunday at his father’s home in the coun try. Miss Lillian Knott of Atlanta, is the guest of Miss Sallie Mae Ball. Mrs. Heflin returned Monday night from an extended stay in Sparta. Miss Julia Smith went to Stark Saturday afternoon, to spend Sunday. Miss Bessie Waldrop will spend the week-end with homefolk in Flovilla. Friends missed J. C. Kinard from his store on Tuesday. He was sick. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Adams are sorry to learn of their illness. Clinton Woods, of Monticello, will be with Pitts McKibben the last of the week. R. A. Maddox left Monday for a trip through south Georgia sel ling monuments. Miss Mattie Logue has return ed from a delightful visit to rela tives in Atlanta. Clayton Thaxton spent Satur day at home, returning to At- Sunday morning. Mr. A. H. Weems will move his family to Atlanta, the latter part of this week. W. W. Kinard, of Jasper coun ty, spent Saturday with his broth er, J. C. Kinard. Dr. R. A. Franklin was in Barnesville the past weekend with his parents. Col. Otis Elkin is expected in Jackson soon, and will be the guest of Joe Wall. Misses Ida Ogletree and Anna Bell Watkins were in Jackson recently shopping. Where do you get your garden seed? Mrs. Ben Watkins is entertain ing Miss Brewer, a charming young lady of Griffin. Mrs. Charlie Harp arrived in Jackson last Sunday and will be with relatives this week. Mrs. M. J. Carson has return ed home after several days most pleasantly spent at Cork. Miss Mary Newton returned home Tuesday night, after a de lightful visit to Cairo Georgia. “The Deestrict Skule” will be given at an early date by the Daughters of the Confederacy. The friends of Miss Pearl Mad dox are glad to sOe her out again, after an illness of several days. Miss Mabel McKibben of Hen ry county, was the guest of Miss Mary McGuffle on last Saturday. Miss Bessie Maddox, of Iron Spring, recently visited Mrs. J. F. Maddox on West Second street. Miss Eloise Meredith, spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Meredith in Jenkinsburg. Miss Lillian Daniel, of McDon ough, is Miss Dollie McKibben’s guest for the masquerade party. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Autry, who recently moved to Atlanta from Jackson, announce the birth of a son. Misses Essie and Velma Lever ette, of Union Point, Butts county, were in Jackson, Satur day. Mr. George Kinsman went to Atlanta Sunday to see his wife who is at Dr. Noble’s Sanita rium. E. Evans and little tots of Towaliga, are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Spencer. Mr. G. M. Jinks and daughter, Miss Emogene of Locust Grove, spent Sunday with relatives in Jackson. Mrs. Emmett McMichael of Cedar Rock, was the guest Sat urday of her sister, Mrs. Jabe Holifield. Rev. W. E. Arnold of Atlanta, was the guest recently of his cousin, Mrs. F. M. H. Barnes, on Covington street for a week. The illness of Mrs. N. E. Set tles, who is suffering from an attack of grip, is the subject of general regret among her many friends. Nosworthy was in Atlanta part of last week # on business. Misses Fannie Mae Moore„ Cecil Bankston, and Estelle Rut ledge, were the attractive guests, of Miss Janie Lemon last Sunday. Misses Cornelia Hardy and Lenora Reeves, visited Miss May Belle Maddox last Sunday. Mr. L. M. Hodges and wife* visited relatives in Newton coun ty a few days ago. Mr. R. B. Giles and Miss Deed ie McClure, spent a few days; very pleasantly with friends and relatives in Jasper county last week. Miss Janie Lemon entertained a few of her friends at Trail a few evenings past. These pres ent were, Misses Cecil Bankston* Estelle Rutledge, Anna Belle Watkins, and Fannie Mae Moore. Messrs G. T.
