son on this date assembled, take, this means, First, of thanking
their customers and friends for tneir assurances of confidence: and
expressing especially to the Jackson Mercantile Cos,, the Jack
son Banking Cos., McKibben Cos., Smith & Etheridge, the Carmi
chael-Etheridge-Smith Cos., Ham & Carter Cos., Carmichael Buggy
Cos. and the Newton-Carmichael Hardware Cos. for the voluntary
and very liberal offer to guarantee to every depositor in full their
deposits at this bank, of record February 13th, the date of the death

The bank opened its doors for the regular transaction of its
business early this morning, and will continue without change of
policy in its dealings with customers and correspondents. The ex
amination of the affairs of the bank, and our previous knowledge
of its condition causes us to express just here, the assurance of its
every customer of the bank’s perfect solvency. The statement
which accompanies this letter is a splendid evidence of its solid
management. We have examined especially its Bills Receivable,
and from our personal knowledge of the parties who are due the

tend the funeral of Mr. J. O.
Beauchamp, returned to their
home in Harlem Monday.
The eight months old infant of
Dr. and Mrs. Waits, died at their
home in Flovilla Sunday. The
funeral services were held Mon
day afternoon at three o’clock.
