ANNOUNCEMENTS For State Treasurer. To the People of Georgia:— I am a candidate for treasurer of this state subject to the action of the democratic party at its next primary. In making this an nouncement I confidently refer to my long service in this depart ment of the state government, covering a period of more than 20 years, looking after the finan cial interests of this state and the interests of the depositors in the various banks to the entire satisfaction of the people as suf ficient guarantee that the duties pertaining to this important trust will be well and faithfully performed if again placed in my charge. In making this announcement, I wish to say to the voters of Butts that I appreciate their “loyal” support in the past, and during my stay in the Clerk’s office, did my best to show my appreciation by doing my every duty to the best of my ability, and should they see proper to elect me again I will strive to serve them in a manner that will satisfy both my people and the law. This announcement will be sufficient, I hope, as the voters of this county know me and my fitness for the office I ask at their hands, hence, I shall not under take to canvass the county, but wish to set a precept that I know many good people will endorse, and one that the county has long felt the need of, viz., that a man’s announcement should be enough for him to do. Let the people do the rest. Away with canvassing, bothering, nagging, offering coin, pulling and trying to persuade men from their hon est dictates. Let every man vote his honest convictions, and every man take his hat off to whatever is his fate.
