The announcement of the ap
proaching marriage of Mr. Park
Newton to Miss Bessie Powell, of
Xewnan, has been read with
much interest by Mr. Newton’s
many friends here, who are con
gratulating him. Miss Powell is
pleasantly remembered in Jack
aon, having been the charming
guest of Miss Mary Newton sev
eral times.
Miss Ruenette Westcott gave
a lovely domino party on Thurs
day for Miss Leonora Nutt, of
Jackson, who is her attractive
guest. The house was prettily
decorated in red roses and the
prize, a pair of silk hose, was
von by Miss Eliza Patterson,
and the guest of honor was pre
sented with a lovely monogram
pin. Miss Nutt is being shown
many pleasant social attentions
and next week will be entertained
by Miss Elder and Miss Jones.—

I THE GASOLINE ENGINE -
You make a mistake if you think you cau run your
J|| farm economically or profitably without a gasoline engine.
|=3 Do not overlook the possibilities of a gasoline engine for
§3 farm use. A gasoline engine will furnish power to do the
hundred and one little jobs about your farm which make
Hf farm work drudgery if hand, wind or horse power is used.
IThe gasoline engine is so reliable, so simple, so safe, and
B so economical to operate that you can not afford to over*
look it Of all the gasoline engines on the market the
B LH. C. engine stands first because it is designed by men
f=j who understand the requirements of a practical and cheap
H! g g farm power.
