PERSONAL AND LOCAL A little gossip about the doings of folks you know and don’t know Willie Land returned Friday to Shellman. Mr. Webb Fletcher was in town Monday. Mr. B. A. Collier spent Sunday at Indian Spring. Mrs. T. J. Dempsey is on the sick list this week. Miss Susie Etheridge was in our city Wednesday. Mrs. Loyd Hodges was a recent visitor to Worthville. Mr. Joe Wynn, of Peeksville, was in otfir midst Sunday. Mrs. R. N. Etheridge was among the sick Sunday. > Mr. and Mrs. Norsworthy are proud of anew baby boy. Little Doris Carter was quite sick the first of the week. Homer Carmichael has been sick for the past few days. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Conner worshipped at Stark Sunday. S. B. Kinard spent Sunday with his mother at Towaliga. "Mrs. Oxford has been suffering from an abscess in the head. Tom McKibben was over from Eatonton the first of the week. Eugene McMichael was the guest Sunday of Boyd McMichael. Mrs. Rfollie Coleman made a business trip to Atlanta Monday. Mrs. Lanier and little Eliza beth have been ill for some time. Mrs. A. C. Smith is visiting her son, R. L. Smith, this \teek. Col. W. E. Watkins was in Macon Wednesday on legal busi ness. W. B. Thompson was sick Mon day and not able to be in the store. Marvin Turner of McDonough, attended the land sale in Jackson Friday. Dr. Tom Fletcher was ming ling with friends in Jackson Monday. • Mrs. A. C. Mlllen, of Flovilla, was the guest of Mrs. Buchanan Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Carmichael have named their baby Roselyn Virginia. Mr. F. S. Etheridge has re turned from a business trip to New York. Mrs. Jim Chambliss and Miss Rosa Greer were in town Monday shopping. - , Mr. Will Taylor spent Saturday anil Sunday with his family on West avenue. Dee Tollerson was in Jackson Tuesday in interest of the Lithia Spring picnic. | Dr. and Mrs. Franklin expect !to spend the coming week-end in Barnesville. Miss Ophelia Banks is spending this week in Macon with Miss Florrie White. ✓ Mrs. Mary Ham is in Locust Grove, visiting her son, Mr. Emerson Ham. \ Miss Minnie Hammond spent Sunday night with her sister, Mrs. Will Carter. Miss Bessie Bloodworth is spending this week with Miss Lucy Goodman. Miss Alice Mae Hanes will go to Atlanta Friday for a short visit to relatives. Mrs. Reet McMichael was taken very ill Saturday night, but is now some better. Mrs. F. S. Etheridge and Miss Willie were shopping in Atlanta Saturday. Mr. C. F. Etheridge, a promi nent Butts county farmer was in town Wednesday. 0 '. Mrs. Nannie Moore has gone to Atlanta to be with relatives for several weeks. After several days visit to his family, Mr. L. L. O’Kelly left Monday for Tifton. Mrs. S. B. Kinard entertained at dinner Saturday Mesdames Kimbell and Finley. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Goodwin and child visited relatives in McDonough Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Joyner spent Sunday with Mrs. Milton at the Camp Ground. Mrs. W. S. Tigner, of Odessa dale, Ga., visited Mrs. Wiggins the first of the week. Rev. James Bradley filled his appointment in Henry county Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Stamps, of Bremen, Ga., came Monday night and is clerk ing at the Entrekin firm. Miss Marie McMichael has been suffering with rheumatism in her left arm for several days. Miss Willie Cooper enjoyed Saturday and Sunday in Macon with her sister, Mrs. Little. Miss Clara Nolen will visit Mrs. Claude Gray at Locust Grove the last of the week. Tom and Miss Dollie McKibben were the guests Sunday of Miss Lillian Daniel in McDonough. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Moore and daughters, of Locust Grove were shopping in Jackson Tuesday. Mrs. James Bradley and baby, left Friday for a month’s visit to her mother in South Carolina. Mrs. Brown and Miss Julia arrived Monday night from Georgetown and will visit Mrs. R. P. Sasnett for several months. Mr. A. F. McMahon was not able to be at his post of duty Saturday on account of illness. Olin Barfield, a former Jack sonite, came Saturday to visit the family of Mr. J. M. Crawford. Mrs. Matilda Ridgeway and granddaughter from Towaliga were in town shopping Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. W*. C. Woods, of Woodstown were the guests Tues day of Dr. and Mrs. J*. E. Woods. Park and Miss Mary Newton were entertained by Miss Alice Newton at her home in Forsyth, Sunday. Mrs. Sam Foster and Miss Imogene Harkness, of Towaliga, were among the busy shoppers Tuesday. Mir. and Mrs. R. N. Etheridge entertained Mr. Joe Giles, of New York, at tea on Wednesday evening. Messrs Edwards and Spivey of Macon, spent Sunday at Hotel Buchanan, as the guests of Miss Edwards. . Mrs. Emily Bryans returned to Indian Spring after a short stay with her daughter, Mrs. H. L. Daughtry. Miss Bertha Carmichael left Saturday for Danburg, Ga., where she will visit Miss Pink Anderson. Francis Ouida is the name of the two-weeks-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Wynn, of Harlem, Ga. Rev. Robt. Van Deventer filled the pulpit at Indian Spring Bap tist Church Sunday afternoon at three o’clock. Miss Bessie Bloodworth and Walker Preston were among the Flovilla people who visited Jack son Tuesday. Chester Maddox and little An nie Kate Watson had a pleasant day at the home of Mr. B. J. Banks Sunday. Miss Mary Lou Wright, of Lo cust Grove, visited Miss Alice Maddox from Monday morning until Tuesday night. William McMichael came up from Macon Saturday night to spend Sunday with homefolk on Indian Spring street. Sherwood Thaxton has accept ed the position as assistant day clerk at the Wigwam, and will begin work Saturday. Mrs. E. H.
