PERSONAL AND LOCAL A little gossip about the doings of folks you know and don’t know Mrs. J. T. Goodman is on the sick list. J. H. Mills was trading in our city Tuesday. Mrs. S. A. Biles has been right sick this week. Levi Carter made a social visit to Macon Sunday. Mrs. N. J. Harmon has been real sick this week. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Evans were in town Saturday. Mr. I. H. Maddox went to Worthville Monday. Little Julia Mayo is recovering from a recent illness. Mrs. Lem Whitten spent Sun day at Mechanicsville. Otis Ham and Henry Byron are at home from Mercer. Mrs. D. J. Thaxton was quite sick first of the week. Mr. R. E. Stanfield, of Cordele, was in the city Sunday. J. M. Gaston came in from Stark Tuesday trading. a, 0. B. Willis made a business trip to Sparta this week. Mr. “Cy” McKibben was here from McDonough recently. Jacob Mayo attended the sing ing at Orchard Hill Sunday. W. D. Currie represented Old Bethel here first of the week. Miss Maude Harper was in from Stark shopping Tuesday. Dr. T. C. Fletcher, of Jenkins burg, was in town Wednesday. Mr. Dick Pulliam and wife were here from Worthville Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. Hope McClure visited relatives in Jackson Sun day. J. B. Childs came down on business from Jenkinsburg Tues day. Walter Sams, of Troy, Ala., is at home on a two weeks’ vaca tion.' Miss Isoline Byars, of Locust Grove, is visiting Mrs. J. T. Mc- Lain. Mallett & Ham sold 88 bales of-cotton last Friday, for 12 1-2 cents. Miss Dorcas Greer was the guest of Miss Pearl Maddox last week. Homer Carmichael returned Monday from a short stay in At lanta. Mr. George Saunders, one of Stark’s best men, was in town Tuesday. Mr. B. 0. Woodward had the misfortune of losing a good horse Tuesday. Miss Hester Jarrell has return ed from Seville, where she has teaching. Mr. J. R. Head, one of Monroe’s successful farmers, was here this week. Miss Mary Harkness was the guest of Mrs. D. N. Carmichael last week. Little Warren Furlow went home with his sister, Mrs. Mac Potts Monday. Dr. Waites and Mrs. Goodrum of Flovilla, were in our midst the first of the week. Rev. S. P. Wiggins and family are guests at the New Elder House, this week. Mrs. S. E. Paul returned Tues day from a visit to Mrs. Orme Campbell in Atlanta. Mrs. Jim Kinard and little ones are in the city spending the week with relatives. Clayton Thaxton left Tuesday to accept a position in Dr. White’s drug store at Flovilla. Mrs. Finley returned Tuesday from a pleasant visit to Mrs. Asa Asa Bailey of Macon. Mrs. J. G. Carmichael, of Oak Giove, was visiting Mrs. D. N. Carmichael Wednesday. Miss Cleo Carmichael has re turned from Robertson’s Sanito rium greatly improved. Little Miss Nadine Leach will leave soon for a visit to her aunt, Mrs. MaLair, of Griffin. Mr. T. A. Saunders, of Stark, has been very sick for a week, but is now some better. Miss Estelle Thornton visited her sister, Mrs. S. E. Jones, Sat urday night and Sunday. Pitts McKibben came down from Cedartown to attend the marriage of his brother. Miss Pauline Mallett returned Tuesday from a visit to Mrs. Mote Watts of Flovilla. Miss Sallie Mae Ball has been spending a few days with Miss Willie Terrell at Flovilla. Rev. Van Deventer will enter tain the Sunbeams with a picnic at Indian Spring, Friday. Miss Viola Slaughter visited Mrs. Lindsey of Atlanta Friday and Saturday of last week. Miss Clara Giles had a delight ful day Sunday in Flovilla as the guest of Miss Clara Bryant. Miss Lilly Anderson, of Dan burg, is on a two weeks’ visit to Miss Rosa'Lee Carmichael. Miss Grace Jarrell has return ed from Forsyth where has been attending Bessie Tift. H. G. Entrekin returned Thurs day morning from Bremen, where he went to visit'll:me : dk.3. Mrs. A. F. Erichson and chil dren had a delightful week-end visit to. relatives in Atlanta. B. M. Barnes came up from South Georgia and made a short visit to his parents last week. Elwood Robison leaves Mon day for a month’s* visit to his brother, Clay, in Birmingham. „ Mrs. R. H. Mrs. Sam Mays and Miss Eliza Currie spent Tuesday afternoon at Mrs. Mays’ lovely country home. Miss Bessie Thaxton who has been visiting at Norman Park for two weeks will return home this week.
