" GOODY’S DISTRICT We are now hard at work but have plenty of plums, blackber ries and ripe peaches. The far mer is now is now in his hardest work, with a June sun .at noon tide pouring down upon hiim with all its maturing force. '' But'we are fully compensated for it c.!l when we consider all the bless ings that go with it, there is nothing Ih a is so conducive to good health as for a man to get out and plow these hot days, get wet with perspiration, go to a cold spring, lay dovvn on the cool rocks and drink the cold water as it gusjieg from its bed of icy granite, and at night, when the tingle of the cow bell goes with the sinking sun, go home and sit down to a dish of cold beans and cold butter milk and a pone of corn bread. If this don’t restore your health, nothing wont. We really is many a rriaVi who goes off to watering places to reclaim his health when at the same time, if he would hitch up a good, steady stepping mule to a plow and let a June sun boil him out for a few days, it would do him more good than "&11 other things he could do, and I believe that the whole medical fraternity will agree with me in this assertion. Someone asked Mr. Rothschild what was the best thing a rich man could do to while the hours away, and his reply was, the best thing for man .in all conditions of life was work; so the only differ ence between a rich man and a poor man is, a poor man can eat three square meals a day and sleep sound all night, and a rich man can’t, from the simple fact that the man who sits in his office or library with his feet on a chair or a table is never hun gry, and only goes .to dinner be cause the bell rings. • Plowhandles.
