have returned to their home in
Atlanta, after a pleasant visit to

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Turner
and Miss Flossie Jinks went up
to McDonough Sunday and spent
the day with Mr. Turner’s family.
Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Jinks went
to Mcßae Monday to attend the
funeral of Mrs. Jinks’ brother,
Mr. Victor Booker.
Miss Julia Smith, who has
been enjoying a three week’s
vacation in Jasper county, is
again at home.
Mrs. Donally of Atlanta, en
joyed the hospitality of Mrs. L.
D. Watson the early part of the
week.
Miss Lucile Roberts who has
been the admired guest of Mrs.
Harkness left Sunday for her
home in Macon.
Mrs. W. B. Thompson is at
home from a short visit to Grif
fin. She was accompanied by
Mr. and Mrs. J*W. Gresham.
Mr. R. A. Maddox returned to
Chattanooga Monday, after a
visit to relatives here. He is
located at 309 West 9th street.
Mr. and Mrs. D. R. McMich
ael are expected this week, and
will enjoy a few days with home
folk on Indian Spring street.
Mr. E. M. Boyd of Baldwin,
Fla., will arrive soon to visit his
family, who are guests of Mrs.
McCune McMichael.
Friends of Robert Lee Mays
are glad to see him after several
month’s stay in the west for his
health.
Walter Sams is at Mr. White
hurst’s Drug store, during the |
absence of Clayton Thaxton, who
is ill at his home with fever.

has accepted a position with the
Empire Buggy Cos. and is board
ing at the home of Mrs.' C. A.

Miss Pal Strange came Satur
day night to visit relatives. Her
mother, Mrs. Lou Strange, will
return home With her last of the
week. .
Mr. Tom Kitchens, an old
resident of this county, but now
of Unadilla, is spending a few
days with relatives in and around
Jackson. '
Mrs. J. T. Smith Went to Ma
con Sunday and* returned that
evening accompanied by her
mother, Mrs. Freeman, who will
visit her for several days.
Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Powers
and baby, left Thursday by way
of Savannah for New York,
where Mr. Powers goes to buy
his Fall stock of goods.
Henry Byron is in Hampton,
Fla., with his uncle, Dr. J. H.
Twiggs. While away, he wiil
visit Jacksonville and St. Augus
tine.
Mrs. A. J. W. Peek, who has
been visiting her daughter, Mrs.
Goodwin, left Sunday for a visit
to Locust Grove and Turnerville
before returning to her home in
Macon.
Bert Barnes came home Sun
day and will go to Putnam coun
ty Wednesday to marry Miss
Corrie B. Nelson. They will re
turn to Jackson and visit relatives
before leaving for their home in
Worth.
Mrs. T. S. Webb and her son,
W. B. Webb, who have been
spending several days at Indian
Spring, have returned home.
Mrs. Webb will leave soon to
visit her daughter at Griffin, Mrs.
T. G. Manley, Jr.
The Tuesday Morning Club met
with Miss Ezra Morrison. Dice,
Hearts, and a contest, answered
in names of American literature
were the modes of entertaining.
Miss Cleo Carmichael won the
prize, a fan, and presented it to'
the guest cf honor, Miss Fijaaces
Arnold, of Hampton." Besides
the regular members, Miss£s
Ruby Mann, of. Jonesboro, and-
Roberta Roberts, of Macort, were
present.
