What has become of the new

Atlanta had something to crow
over this week.
Is Butts going to fight the cat

Politics had to take a back seat
during the Shrine meeting.
At the approaching Monroe

vote on the question of abolish

Remember that it is the duty
of every citizen to clean up his
premises on May 26.
Tom Watson and W. J. Harris
are having a spicy controversy
in the newspapers.

The announcement of State
Treasurer W. J. Speer for re
election is made this week. He
is a thoroughly efficient officer
and will doubtless run his usual
strong race.
A Jackson man, Mr. F. S. Eth

president of the Georgia Bank

now the first vice president of
the association.
There is a movemnnt on foot
to get Solicitor Hugh Dorsey in
the race for governor. Should
he decide to enter he would make
some of tiie other candidates
take notice before the election
was over.
Governor Slaton seems to be
as popular in one section of the
state as another. He will get a
large vote in South Georgia. Fit
ness for office is what counts
most of all in the final analysis.
This talk about a candidate being
from particular section is all bosh.
Every public spirited citizen
ought to shuck off his coat and
go to work and help the Civic Im
provement League in its efforts
to beautify the court house lawn
and clean up the town.
When the people of Jackson
make up their minds to get out
of the small town class they will
find that more manufacturing
plants and bigger payrolls are
needed most of all.
Way cross gave the Knights

Waycross is destined to be a big

Compulsory education was re

few states that hasn’t some kind
of a compulsory education law.
Those candidates for state and
United States offices who are us

sense. The country press is clos

Deafness Cannot Be Cured
by local applications, as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There i* only one way to cure deafness,
and that is by constitutional remedies.
Deafness is caused by an inflamed condi
tion of the mucous lining of the Eusta
chian Tube. When this tube is inflamed
you have a rumbling sound or imperfect
hearing, and when it is entirely closed.
Deafness Is the result, and unless the In
flammation can be taken out and this
tube restored to its normal condition,
hearing will be destroyed forever: nine
cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh,
which Is nothing but an inflamed condi
tion of the mucous surfaces.
We will glvs One Hundred Hollars for any ease of
