CITY TAX RATE IS
FIXED FOR YEAR 1914
Council has fixed the city tax
rate at 14 mills this year.
This rate is made necessary to
provide a sinking fund on account
of the $23,000 bond issue for sew
erage and for installing sewerage
in the school building, it is an
nounced. The improvements at
the school house required one
mill, and the bond issue issue for
sewerage made necessary the
extra levy.
Last year's city tax rate was
$11.30 on the thousand.
Jackson’s tax returns show a
small increase over the previous
year.
