serious illness of Mrs. H. G. As
bury. Among those who have
been called to her bedside are
her sons, Mr. Orville Asbury of
New York city, Messrs. Austin
and Ambrose Asbury of Atlanta.
There was quite a large crowd
to attend the opening of the Jen
kinsburg High School Monday
morning. The enrollment was
good.

the serious illness of her father

turned to Atlanta after a pleas
ant visit to her parents, Mr. and

tle daughter are visiting the for
mer’s mother in Macon.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Lawson
and Miss Lurline Lawson went
over to Forsyth Sunday in their
handsome new Cartercar for the
day with Mr. and Mrs. J. M.
Thomas.
Miss Opal Vickers has return
ed from a pleasant visit with
relatives at Juliette.
Mrs. Charles D. Ingram and
little Charles returned Friday
night from a very nleasant visit
to Villa Rica and Anniston, Ala.
Miss Persia Griggs, one of the
efficient teachers of the Jenkins
burg public school, and a former
teacher in the public school here,
will spend the week-end with
Miss Alice Thompson.
Owing to the large enrollment
of pupils in the Flovilla High
School it was necessary to erect
another room to the school build
ing. The trustees hope to have
it completed by next Monday.

tion at the parsonage last Thurs
day afternoon and evening.
There will be an old fashioned
“spelling bee,” and concert at
Flovilla school auditorium Satur
day evening, October 3rd, at
8 o’clock for benefit of school.
