good deal more than half the

clear, bpt the skies were '

A Happy
TAXES COMING IN
SLOW THIMEAR
Out of some $28,000 county
tax on the digest, about $9,000,
or one-third of the total had been
collected when the time for the
books to close expired Saturday.
The books will be kept open
by Judge J. H. Ham as long as
the Comptroller General will per
mit it, and every effort made to
accommodate the tax payers. It
is important, however, that prop
erty owners pay their state and
county taxes as early as possible
before executions are issued.
It is impossible to state just
how long the books will be kept
open and it is best to pay your
part of the county, state and
school taxes at once and run no
risk of having an execution is
sued against you.
