Now 70 Years Young
Atlanta, Ga., Jan. 21 —Mayor
Jim Woodward, probably the
most widely known city execu
tive in the South, has just cele
brated his seventieth birthday by
coming down to his office an hour
earlier than usual, tackling a
desk full of work and making
his young secretary ask him to
slow down so he could catch up.
Mayor “Jim” has served the
city eighteen years in all, of
which six were spent in the
mayor’s chair, and this year was
re-elected without opposition.
