Calomel acts like dyna mite on a sluggish liver. When calomel comes into contact with sour bile it crashes into it, caus ing cramping and nausea. If you feel bilious, headachy, constipated and all knocked out, just go to your druggist and get a 50c bottle of Dodson’s Liver Tone, which is a harmless veget able substitute for dangerous calomel. Take a spoonful and if it doesn’t start your liver and straighten you up better and quicker than nasty calomel and and without making you sick, you just go back and get your money. If you take calomel today you’ll be sick and nauseated tomorrow; besides, it may salivate you, while if vou take Dodson’s Liver Tone you will wake up feeling great, full of ambition and ready for work or play. It’s harmless, pleasant and safe to give to chil dren; they like it. CORK Miss Laurette Smith spent sev eral days of last week with Miss Florence Etheridge at Mt. Vernon Misses Annie B. Misses Rosebud and Ella Waits HIGH FALLS LOO6E RE6RETS DEATH OF MB. MAODOX C. S. Maddox was a son of J. B. Maddox, born and raised in Butts county, where he lived un til the. time of his death. In his early manhood he professed Christianity and joined the Con gregational Methodist church at Providence, near High Falls, where he was a constant mem ber for over fifty years, and for the church it has lost one of its truest members. In his early age he obtained a useful educa tion and when the war broke out between the states he joined the army and served under General Lee and Jackson. He was always at his post and ready ,to do his duty as a Southern gentleman and a true Christian. After General Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House he returned home to his loved ones that he had left behind. Having obtained an education in his ear ly days he taught school for many years with great success and was loved by all who knew him as a teacher. We believe he was among the best in the state. He was then appointed county school commissioner for which he served for more than a score of years and which office he held at the time of his death. Some time in the early sixties he by his own free will and accord joined the Masonic fraternity. He was Master of his lodge for a num ber of times. In the death of our brother. High Falls Lodge No. 183 mourns the loss of one of its best members. He always squar ed his actions by the square of virtue and kept his vows with all due bonds ot mankind but more especially brother Masons, and he always remembered that he was traveling on the level of time from whose bourn no trav eler ever returned. Brethren in the loss of our brother we mourn but are to hope to clasp hands with him in the spiritual building not made by hand, but eternal in the heavens. Brethren in our loss we cherish his memory in our hearts, and commend his spirit to God, who gave it. and his body to the earth, from whence it came, where it will soon mould back to dust. Our sympathy is extended to the whole famiiy in their bereave ment. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be published in each of the county papers, a copy sent to the family and a blank page be left in our minute book and a copy of these resolutions be past ed thereon to be safely deposited in the archives of masonry.
