Thaxton, of said state and county, executed and delivered to R. N. Etheridge, E. L. Smith and C. M. Compton a certain promissory note for the principal sum of $203.00, ami on said date executed and delivered tosaid parties a deed to the following land, situate, lying and being in said state and county to-wit. Twenty acres in Iron Springs district of Butts county, Georgia, bounded as follows: On north by lands of S. M. Thaxton, east by lands of B. B. Kelly, on south by lands of S. M. Thaxton and on west by lands of Joseph Jolly. To secure said promissory note, and whereas said deed contained a stipula tion that should said note not be paid at maturity, the grantees in said deed have the power to sell before the court house door in the City of Jackson, said state and county, the above described real estate, after advertising the same once per week for four weeks, preceding said sale. And, whereas said note became due on the first day of November, 1914, and the said S. M. Thaxton failed and refused, and still fails and refuses to pay the same. Now, therefore, by virtue of the pow er. of sale contained in said deed, exe cuted as aforesaid and recorded in book F, page 376, in the office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Butts county, the undersigned will sell at public sale at the court house door in said state and county, during the legal hours of sale, to the highest bidder for cash on the first Tuesday in April, 1915, the above described real estate, for the purposeof paying the principal, inter est and costs due on said note. The amonnt received from the sale of the above property will be applied to the payment of the principal, interest and costs aforesaid, and the remainder, if any, shall be paid over to the said 8. M. Misses Carrilu Harper and Sal lie Ruth Tnurston spent a few days last week in Jackson with Miss Anniried Harper. Mr. Frank Moss of Barnesville visited his brother, Mr. J. E. Moss, Monday. Miss Della Childs of Philipi is visiting relatives here this week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sowell and daughter, Miss Bessie, of McDon ough were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Merritt Sunday. Mrs. Charlie Moore spent Sun day here. Mr. A. B. Stallsworth was a visitor to Griffin Monday. On last Sunday afternoon the Death Angel visited the home of Mr. J. P.
