in Jackson with friends. She and
her nephew, Mr. Newsome, were
on an automobile trip to Madison.
Mr. and Mrs. Amoss, of Mil
ledgeville, were called to Jackson
Monday, on account of the serious
illness of their daughter, Miss
Kate Amoss.
Mr and Mrs. A. C. Finley’s lit
tle daughter has been quite sick
the past few days at the home of
her grandparenta, Mr. and Mrs.
Marshall Finley.
Mr. J. 0. Andrews, of Atlanta,
who is spending several days in
the country with his daughters,
Mrs. J. W. Harper of Jenkins
burg, and Mrs. J. L. Barnes, of
Stark, was a visitor to the city
Saturday.
LITTLE GIRL DIES AFTER
ILLNESS OF TWO WEEKS
Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Conner have
the sympathy of numerous friends
in the death of their two-year-old
daughter, Elizabeth, who passed
away Friday morning at nine
o’clock after an illness of two
weeks. Though she was given
the best medical attention and
skilled nursing it was impossible
to stay the ravages of the dis
ease and the end came Friday
morning.
This little girl to whom the
whole family was tenderly devo
ted, is survived by her parents
and two little sisters and her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.
M. Saunders, of Jenkinsburg.
The funeral services were con
ducted at the First Baptist church
Saturday morning at 10 o’clock
by Rev. Z. E. Barron. The pall
bearers were Messrs. L. M.
CrawforS, W. C. Stodghill, W. E.
Watkins and 0. N. Brownlee.
Interment was in the City Cem
etery.

MR. JOEL MALLET IS
HONORED AT UNIVERSITY
There was a meeting of the Ju
nior law class this morning at
which time the officers for next
year were elected. Mr. Joel Mal
let, of Jackson, Ga.. was elected
president. Mr. Mallet was an
honor graduate of Emory last
year and is an honor man in the
law class. He is a member of
the A. T. 0. fraternity and re
cently represented Georgia in an
intercollegiate debate.-Monday’s

people went down on the morn
ing train, while others motored
through the country. At the

was enjoyed. The day was spent
in innocent amusements.
