Stallworth, Mrs. Thurston and Miss Florence were visitors to Jackson Monday. Mr. Moore and daughter, Tru die, spent Sunday ifi Griffin. Misses Sallie Ruth and Beedie Thurston are spending a few days in Atlanta. Mrs. Sarah Guest and daugh ter spent Thursday in Jackson. Mrs. Harvey Jackson, of Mc- Donough, is the guest of her sis ter. Mrs. J. B. Childs, this week. Miss Grace Barnes, of Stark, is visiting Miss Ghittie Cook this week. Mrs. H. G. Gilmore and chil dren. of Monticello. were recent guests of Mrs. Gilmore. Mrs. J. H. Holifield, of Jack son. spent Monday with Mrs. J W. Childs. Among those who attended the funeral of Mr. J. A. Moss Tues day were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moss. of Barnesville, Mrs. Thompson, of Empire, and Mrs. Crawford, of Yatesvilie. Mrs. McMichael and daughter, Miss Marie, of Jackson, were the guests of Mrs. R. A. YVcndward Thursday. 1 COUNTY OFFICERS HAVE CONVENTION The annual convention of the County Officers Association of Georgia was held Wednesday at the Wigwam, Indian Springs. The attendance numbered be tween fifty and sixty. After transacting the business of the session the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: J President—H. E. Allen, Sum: ter county. First vice president—C. D. Thigpen, Washington ceunty. Second vice president—J. E. Gornto, Lowndes county. Secretary and treasurer —M. S. Joyner, Jenkins county. The next convention will be held at St. Simons and efforts will be made to have a large at tendance present. Several of the Butts county of fieers attended the meeting at Indian Springs Wednesday. SUCCESSFUL MEETING OVER AT PEPPERTON One hundred and two additions were secured to the church dur ing the revival at Pepperton. which closed Sunday night. In every respect this was one of the most successful meetings ever held in the county. Rev. T. C. Gilbert, of Locust Grove, conducted the services and his strong gospel preaching will, it is confidently believed, prove of great good to the entire commu nity.
