The people down our way have been too busy this spring to give much attention to baseball or similar sports but we have the champion bee-robbing team of the state, organized, led and trained by Morton Vickers. These bovs have tackled bees in all sorts of situations, in gums, trees, dwelling houses, mill houses, churches, etc., and although the score is sometimes in favor of the bees temporarily and the boys get marks of the contest that sometimes last them several days, yet they never fail to come back with the spoils and victors in ev ery contest. We authorize you, Mr. Editor, to announce a stand ing challenge for our boys against any other bee-robbing team in the state or elsewhere. Demonstrator Worsham and Kirby Smith spent Sunday in the Union Ridge community, Mr. Worsham having received an emergency call from Evan Smith, a progressive farmer of that sec tion, to go over and investigate his peach orchard and prescribe for his the peach trees. The fruit was described as having at tained about the size of a goose egg and turning a pretty deep red on one side and a delicate pink shade on the other and soft and juicy in the middle. Although Mr. Worsham is making a good showing as farm demonstrator he has never claimed to be an entomologist or an expert in peach culture, etc., yet it is re ported that on this occasion all parties were well pleased with the investigation, remedies ap plied, etc. Now let everybody pull togeth er for a first class Butts county fair next October.
