vice, disease, poverty a< and crime.

not that we depreciate the philan
thropy of the former, but for the
safety of our counry. We also need
the latter.
A free school system should con
sider first, of all, the needs of th*

associates and successois, to be incorpora
ted under the nanit and style of The Jack
sou Mercantile Company. That the ob
ject of their corporation is pecuniary prof

character and nature of the business of
said corporation shall be the dor g of and

goods, groceries, hats, boots, shoes, hard
