Mr. Peicy Bryan, son of Col. G. W.
Bryan of McDonough, was killed
either accidently or with sucidal in
tent on Monday. His brains were
blown out with a pistol in his own
hands. He was 23 years of age.
Mrs. J. M. C. Tbaxlon, near Towa
iaga, happened to a painful accident on
Sunday. While walking down the
steps she fell dislocating a hip joint.
She has suffered untold agonies and it
will likeiy be many months before
she will walk again.
The Grand Jury of Henry county,
with only seven hundred dollars in
the county treasury gave twenty dol
lars for printing the general present
ments. The Butts county Grand Jury
with seven thousand dollars in the
treasury offered only five dollars for
printing the general presentments.

A FRIGHTFUL RUNAWAY.
On Sunday night about dark
there was a frightful runaway on
Third street.
Dr. R. G. Bryans was driving and
his horse became stubborn just in
front of Mr. Etheridge’s residence
and while the doctor was endeavor
ing to get him go forward lie reared
and bdl and in an instant he was
dead. In falling a blood vessel was
broken near his heart which caused
its death.
Just after the horse had fallen Mr.
Dobv, a young man from Worth
ville with Miss Ellis in a buggy,
drove along the street and when
near the dead horse the mule he
was driving became Lightened,
made a quick turn, threw the
young man and lady out and
dashed away. The buggy was torn
to fragment and left in the alley
near Cant. Hitchens’while the mule
made for other parts of town. He
was caught near the court house
with some fragments of the
harness hanging to him, F oriu
nately no one was hurt.
THE PICNIC OFF.
On account of sickness in the
family of Dr, Cantrell, the superin
tendant of the Methodist Sabbath
school, and measles raging so gen
er ally in the comm unit} 7 , the pic
nic at Bermuda Bottoms has been
declared off for the present.
