RO GRE33 ON AND UPWARD” OUR MOTTO.
The taste of the people must be met, and The New York Store folks are the ones
equal to the emergency,
NOT ONLY THIS, BUT PRICES WILL FIGURE
largely this winter. Bearing this in mind, it hxs been our main desire and highest
ambition to buy cheap and to sell cheap, underbuy and undersell. With this idea
burning in us, we have waged war, fought battles and came out conquerors and will
►how a line of goods, in every line, at prices the like of which has never been known
befoie. All we ask is that you lool< and see and price.
OUR MILLINERY DEPARTMENT

n'<! call special attention to our
clubbing arrangement with the great
southern weekly, the Atlanta Consti
tution, which enables us to offer both
papers for the remarkably low sum of
$L 40 a year. The first duty of every
good citizen is to patronize his homo
paper, lie wishes to become thor
oughly conversant with his county
matters, and only through his home
paper can he expect to be supplied
with the current county news, which
is ol the closest interest to him.
After he has provided himself with
his home paper his next consideration
of those who are not within easy
reach of a first-class daily newspaper
should he to select a first-class weekly
newspaper supplying all the general
news ot the world, and paying special
attention to features which are of par
ticular interest to the household and
the farm.
Just such a paper is The Weekly
Constitution, published at At'anta,
Ga., and having a circulation of
156,000 copies a week, the largest of
any weekly newspaper published in
America. It is essentially a farmer’s
paper and stands at the head of the
weekly press of this country. Its
agricultural department alone is
worth the subscription price of the
paper, wtiile it numbers among its
contributors such we‘l known names
as Bret Uario, Mark Twain, Joel
Cbaudlor Harris, Surge Plunkett, Bill
Arp, and a host of others, whose rep
utations are world wide. Its women
amt ehiltli en’s departments are pre
pared with a special view to please the
little folks and the women, and its
news columns literally cover the face
of the earth.

ONE NEGRODEAD
AND THREE OTHERS RESTING IN JAIL.
The above is the result of a free
fight .out at Kinard’s on Sunday
night.
On Monday morning the dead
body of Isaac Harden was found
cold and stiff between Kinard’s
store and the mill, a few hundred
yards away. Tne coroner was no
tified, and he organized and held an
inquest. They found that the man
was dead, with a knife hole ir. his
1 fft breast just above the heart, and
ano her in the small of the rmck.
It was learned that a fight had oc
curred on Sunday night between
be dead man and bis half-brother,
named Max Taber, and two other,
named Boater Wynn and Lee Law
rence. The trio \\4is arrested, but
they denied knowing anything
about the killing. The evidence
wis sufficient, however, for the jury
to find a verdict that Harden came
to h s death at the hands of Taber,
his half brother, with the other two
as accessories, and all of them are
sleeping behind the bars of the
the county jail. Too much liquor
was the cause of the trouble.
