The moon is sinking, sinking low;
Duty calls me from your presence,
And though heartbraking 1 roust go
Do 1 love you? Ah, fool question,
Must I answer it o’er again?
Naught but love can dwell within me,
And not to love yeu eives me pain.
Goodbye—Gh, those cruel letters!
flow much sadness in that word!
But I’m coming back to see you,
My darling sweet, ray singing bird. _ "
Let me diawyou to mv bo'-orn,
Let me pi ess you to ray heart, —
Oh, 1 cannot, cannot leave you,
Let us never, never part.
Thy presence always gives me pita ure,
Let me linger by thy side, —
>Speak the word to make me happy,
Say at once you’ll be my bride.
Let our hearts be joined forever,
Let them melt and be hut one,
For in my breast can come no other, —
