Mr. Omer Ilull tias this caid in a recent issue ofThe Danielsville Moni tor : “It is with gieat pleasure and sin cerity that I announce my return to the democratic party. 1 led persuad ed that I have allowed myself to be led from the proprerpath of thought by Tom Watsonism, but, alter cool and thoughtful study, I have (irmly determined to return to the ranks of the demo :i atic party and to use my best endeavors :o further its interests. I hope others who have been so blind as I have will see the folly of their error and opine out like men and stand by the grand old party. “It is the entering wedge which splits the oak, and the thiid parly L but an entering wedge to split t| < democratic pai tv. OMER HUFF.’ . i Ihe coioicri voUi> ofGcoigia ae rt turning to tlie dr mecn.iio f.,hl. host's Hall, a leading colon<l man of Bulloch eoiiiity, writes as follows to tl.c Stale.* b*rro Alar: “1 write ii lam a seme r i\lu;\ wiiieh I feel I owe my c>'or and the tlie demot rats of our county and s-tot. I Inve been in s\mpathv of late with the third party, but they have shown to me by tluir actions that they do not care f<sr us only to get our votes to defeat that great pa-ty, the party of the people, to-wit, the democratic. 1 hey claimed tli.it they were going to allow us a showing, and, indeed, thev have, after they put out a full ticket and then appointed a meeting' at Claxtou and chose four white men out of every district to one colored to be dragged in aid used as a tool to pul them in office. blie democrats have allowed us the privilege to or ganize our own clubs, and tohaveour meetings in each distiict to decide whom we will support in the demo cratic primary. This seems to me lo be liberty we have been entitl'd „to since our freedom. It seems to me that every rational man could see. the point. It is to vote for- the man the third party says, or mc-\ without al lowing us to say whom we had rather suppoit; that is not freedom, and I hope our people will take heed and lice from such. The third partyltes will always treat you well when they want a favor of you. This reminds tire of Loxcv how he led the poor people away from their party and their homes, and now lias left them in the most destitute condition. Ail the third party wants is bur votes to put them in ofliee. I hope I have sc'm my error. 1 hope others will re turn as the prodigal did. Inquire for the old paths of democratic principles, fall in line and march on to victory.
