A Layman Gives Some Souno Advice
on an Important Subject*
Text; “Be sure your sins will find
you out.”
Subject; Sin in high places.
The “high places” in the subject is
used in a sense, to be construed as
created by our so called society. For
in the all seeing eye, there is no high
nor low places, as applied to individ
uals, by the said society. In the eye
of God things are seen as they are,
and not as society views or considers
them. A president, governor, judge
sheriff, juror and witness, in God’s
eye, is high when they are doing
right, and low when they are doing
wrong. The bishop and the sexton,
preacher and layman are neither high
nor low, by reason of the position
they hold in society or church, in
God’s eye. Then the subject is ap
plied by God himself and is applic
able to one of the above society dis
ti notions as the other. In all these
places, “be sure your sins will find
you out,” or in other words be sun
the law of retribution is as invulner
able as the law of gravitation. Any
thing short of justice is sin. God is a
just God, and sets in judgement alike
on the church, courthouse, store and
farm. In the shop the smith is no
better than his striker, the judge
than the juror, the preacher than the
sexton, unless they do better in the
sight of God. As the hell of Atri de
manded justice for the neglected steed
and as. after a form of trial, the or
phan girl had been murdered at the
feet of the brazen statue of justice,
for having been accussed of taking
a necklace of pearls, and God smote
the statue with lightning, as she ex
pired, revealing the necklace in the
creviee of the statue where some bird
had hidden it, so will God visit retri
butive justice on every soul, however
high he may he. The preacher who
decides a difference against a really
agrieved humble member of his flock
in favor of one who is the aggressor,
because he pays more money, or is a
colonel, or a anything with a handle
to it; be sure your sins will find you
out.” The judge who permits the

nicality, thus making the home of

give him a note for sl3 due in six
months, an J then gives him ten dol
lars for it, and swears he does not
violate the law on usury, had better
remember to be sure his sins will find
him out.
The politician who wants office and
who agrees to leave it to the people
to say who shall be standard bearer
and it develops that he is not the
man, at that time, and he is dissatis
fied with a primary that he would
have been pleased with, if he had been
nominated, had better remeber it is
only two years till another primary,
and the people, as well as well as his
sins, will be sure to find him out.

EsHCHtiah in a Healthful Home.
The site for a house should receive
careful attention of the tenant, pur
chaser, or of one proposing to build.
A good site may mean life and hap
piness, and a bad one, diseases, suf
fering, and death.
First—lt should be dry. Avoid, as
you would death, a damp location. In
a town or city carefully ascertain,
weather or not it is on “made around.’
Avoid it. Avoid ground underlaid
with claw, for it it will always be
damp.
Second.—Elevate on a hillside or
gentle knoll, never in a hollow. The
hillside is warmer and drier than the
hollow.
Third. —Not close to a swamp or
slow river, milldam or land which is
overflowed a portion of the year, nor
s such a place that the prevailing
wind will bring to the house pestilence
from a milldam, etc.
Fourth.—ln as good a neighbor
hood as possible, away from factories,
saloons, ect., and near scools and
churches.
Fifth.—ln a village or town builn
on as large a lot as possible, thus se
curing air, and sunlight. Build back
from the street, thus avoiding the dus
of the dry season and the curious gaze
of ever passer. Secure a yard in
which trees and plants will furnish
both exercise and health.
Sixth.—ln the country build back
from the highway, giving an abun
dance of room for trees and shrub
bery about the house. Do not se
lect a place where your family will be
isolated from all social intercourse,
so necessary to the health of mind and
body.
For the aspect, let the house be so
placed that it will receive the most
sunlight and fresh air, especially
from the summer winds. Avoid, ever
if offered rent free, a damp, dark
house with no chance of free air. All
the rooms should be bathed in light'
and warmth. The living rooms should
always be warmed by the morning sun.
This hint is worth a great deal as a
health matter. For when the sun
cannot enter, the doctor must enter
