Friday afternoon Misses Cleo
and Helen Carmichael entertained
at a lovely tea at 6 o’clock for their
house guests, the Misses Adams
and Mary Lane, of Macon, Mar
garet Rushton, of Atlanta, and
Minnie Bailey.
Punch was served in the hall by
Misses Adams, Lane and Carmi
chael.
Assisting in entertaining were
Misses Mary and Rosa Newton,
Mesdames Park Newton and S. B.
Kinard.
The rooms were literally banked
with daisies, and the timely motif
was carried out effectively through
out the affair, yellow aud white be
ing used in all the refreshments.
In the evening a of
young men were entertained, call
ing as the guests for the tea party
were leaving.

HIXON-WILSON.
A prfctty home wedding was that
of Miss Ethel Hixon, the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Hixon, of
Villa Rica, and Mr. Wallace Wil
son, which took place at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Ingram in
Flovilla Thursday afternoon, June
5, at 5 o’clock. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. Dozier, of Car
rollton .
Miss Era Hixon, cousin of the
bride, and Mr. Roberts were their
only attendants.
Miss Mamie Kate Watson played
the wedding march.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson left imme
diately for their home in Villa Rica.
IEHEMSII PARTY ENTERTAINED
A beautiful affair of the week,
the pleasure of which was shared
by thirty-six guests, was a buffet
supper which Mr. and Mrs. R. J.
Carmichael gave at their home on
Third street fof the Bailey-Mallet
bridal party and the visiting young
men and women in Jackson.
The party went over immediately
after the rehearsal of the wedding,
and upon entering the hall was
served punch by Mrs. Paul - Baker
and Miss Rosa Newton from a
bowl surrounded with magnolias.'
Other decorations of the hall were
ferns and pink sweet peas.
In the dining room the same del
icate colors, pink aud white, were
used, the crystal basket in the cen
ter of the table being filled with
lovely sweet peas aud delicate ferns.
The crystal candle holders held
pink tapers and the mints were in
two colors.
After the supper the loving cup
presented Mr. Mallet some time
ago by the Jackson Rifles was
passed aud toasts drunk to the
bride and groom.
MBS. CARMICHAEL’S LUNCHEON.
No more delightful affair has
been given for Miss Minnie Bailey
than the four-course luncheon that
Mrs. R. T. Carmichael gave for
her and the ladies of her bridal
party Tuesday at 1 o’clock.
Graceful yellow nasturtiums and
black-eyed Susans were the flowers
Mrs. Carmichael used with such
charming effect about her rooms,
and the same bright colors were
further emphasized in many dishes
of the elegant luncheon.
The affair was delightfully in
formal and afforded a welcomed
opportunity to the guests of spend
ing several hours with the hotjpree
and her hostess.

Indian Spring for a bowling party
in the Casino.
A match game was played by
Linton Hopkins and Jim Newton,
of Jackson, and Ben Cleveland
and G. N. Brownlaa, of Indian
Spring, resulting in a victory for
the former.

ue through Wednesday, July 2nd,

The meetings will he in charge of
M rs. J. T. Blalock, district secretary,
of Hnrnesvilla.
Lunch will Ire served on Tuesday
and Wednesday on the church lawn
to the delegates and thoir hostesses.
The first meeting will he on
the evening of June HOth, and the
public is given a cordial invitation
