Misses Lizzie Fletcher and Mag gie Jean Foster spent last week in Juliette with relatives. Miss Ruth Meadors, of Coving ton, spent last week with her sister, Mrs. G. B. Carreker. Miss Minnie Browning is at home from Cordele, where she has been for the past few months. Masters Jack, Arthur and Car los Wilson who have been spend ing some time with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs J. H. Land, returned to their home in Atlanta Tuesday. Mrs. Albert Finley and little daughter leave this week to vis it relatives in LaFayette, Ala. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Adams have returned to Atlanta after a visit to Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ad ams. Miss Eloise Slaton returned to Atlanta, Sunday after a sleas ant visit to Dr. and Mrs. H. R. Slaton. Miss Mary Land spent last week-end most pleasantly in At lanta with her sister, Mrs. A. C. Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. O'Kelley, Mr.- and Mrs. M. C. Wright and Miss Nettie Pittman motored to Atlanta Friday. Mrs. Florence Lunquest is on a visit to Mrs. A. H. Smith and is receiving a cordial welcome from her many friends. Mrs. Clara Wilson and daughter of Atlanta, are guests this week of Mrs. J. R. Thurston, Mrs. J. B. Guthrie and Mrs. W. T. Pruitt. Miss Myrtle Harris left Mon day morning for the University of Virginia at Charlottesville to take a summer course in normal work. Mrs. J. H. Bullard and Mr. LeGare Bullard, of Machen, who are spending some time at the Wigwam, were week-end guests of Mrs. H. R. Slaton, Mrs. J. M. Currie and Mrs. J. T. Harris. OBE HENDRICK PASSED AWAY SATURDAY Butts county friends of Mrs. Obe Hendrick were pained to learn of her death, which occur red at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Will Butner at Powder Springs, Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Hendrick had been in feeble health for some time but news of her passing came as a shock to a wide circle of friends. She was about 70 years old and a native of Butts county. Before her marriage which occurred in 1867, Mrs. Hendrick was Miss Carrie Barnes. She was a mem ber of the Methodist church and a splendid Christian character. Mrs. Hendrick is survived by her husband, two children, Mrs. W. E. Butner, Powder Springs, and Ambrose Hendrick, Atlanta; two brothers, Turner Barnes, of South Georgia and Charlie Barnes of Alabama; two sisters, Mrs. Mallie Yancey, of Helena, and Mrs. Nora White, South Georgia.
