Miss Ada Sams has returned home after a months visit to St. Simons and Brunswick. Mrs. E. C. Robison, Flora and Singleton Robison visited rela tives at Elgin this week. Mrs. Clayton Buchanan, of Ma con, has been spending a few days with relatives here. Prof. L. D. Watson, of Gordon Institute, Barnesville, was a week-end visitor to the city. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Winn and two children, of Culloden, are visiting relatives here this week, Elwood Robison, who has been spending a part of his vacation in Atlanta, has returned home. Mrs. G. D. Head returned this week from a visit to her aunt, Mrs. A. W. Waller, in Hawkins ville. Miss RozalynLeseur, of Barnes ville, who has been the guest of Miss Miriam Sams, has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Lester, Sa rah and Elizabeth Lester will return Saturday to their home in Macon. Miss Evelyn Wilson has return ed to her home in Atlanta after a pleasant visit to Mrs. J. B. Guthrie. Mrs. R. L. Carter has as her guests, her charming nieces, Misses May and Vivan Collier, of St. Louis. Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Nichols and family, Mrs. J. H. McKibben motored to Macon Tuesday for the day, being the guests of Mrs. L. R. Akin. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Newton. Miss Mary Newton and Mr. W. P. Newton motored to Cochran for the week-end with Mr. J. C. Newton. Miss Janie Hearn is a guest at the Buchanan hotel, having come over from Eaton ton for the wed ding of Miss Ruth Willis and Mr. H.J. Miller. Col. and Mrs. Joe Wall, of Fitz gerald, are visiting relatives at Indian Springs. Col. Wall is convalescing from an illness ex tending over several months, at which time he was in an Atlan ta sanitarium. Miss Carrie Knott is spending her vacation in Jacksonville, Tampa, Washington and New York*, having joined Mr. and Mrs, C. E. Pkts, of Hawkins ville, several days ago for this outing. The congregations will worship with the Methodist Episcopal Church Sunday evening. Ac cording to plan Pastor VanDe venter will preach. These Sun day evening services will con tinue through August. The Womens Meeting of the Kimbell Association met last week with the church at Mt. Vernon. The Kimbell Association meets early in September with the Sharon church in Henry county. Get ready for it. The Boy Scouts Camp It was the best yet. South river bridge is a fine place. Good shade, fine spring of water and good swimming. The camp was the largest we have had. The boys were happy all the time and none of them were hurt or sick. We owe Mr. L. M. Crawford and Mr. Henry Hendrick many obli gations for transportation and tents and beds. The boys thank you gentlemen. When they are men they will remember. At that time the past year’s busi ness will be gone over, directors and officers elected and plans for the future discussed. This warehouse is one of the most substantial and successful business institutions in Jackson and Butts county and does a large cotton business each sea son. It has a strong board of directors and the present officers are Mr. S. J. Smith, president and Mr. J. M. Gaston, secretary and general manager. Lummus, aged 55, passed away at her home at Stark at 6 o’clock Wednesday morning. The funeral and interment took place at 10 o’clock Thursday at Macedonia. Besides her husband Mrs. Lum mus is survived by the following children: Mrs. Georgia Andrews and Jarrett Lynch, of Atlanta, Charles and Greff Lynch, of La- Grange, Mrs. Minnie Bickers, of LaGrange, Mrs. Clara Parker, of Eastman, and Mrs. Lilia Hoard.
