Come what may, the people are with the President. The biggest event of the fall season will be the Butts County Fair. Being governor of Georgia these days is just one thing after another. That Poultry show at the Butts County Fair will be something to crow over. A few of Judge Searcy’s sen tences would make the blind ti gers open their eyes. Blaming it on dog days is shai ing distinction with blaming it on the war along now. There’s this much about Editor Oliver Bloodworth’s troubles— he has no little ones. Editor Duke, of Griffin, ought to come over and let us show him what a real Dixie highway looks like. Bet Oliver Bloodworth is the happiest single man in Georgia. Soon be time for the Bessie Tift girls to return. There’s one noticeable differ ence in Cobb county and her sis ter, Fulton. That is, she can do more and say less about it. Georgia has a fine climate but it would not agree right now with those northern and eastern ed itors who are deliberately lying about Georgia and her people. Georgia’s Tax returns will show a small decrease over last year. Up goes the tax rate. The ques tion is, have public officials been cutting expenses so as to meet this condition. ? His friends predict that he will make oneof the most popular jurists in the state. An unknown man was found dead in the outskirts of a Kansas town recently. A revolver and SIOO in cash were found on his person. The coroner hcid an in quest. and it took $75 to defray the expenses and bury the body. The police judge fined the corps $25 for carrying concealed weap ons and confiscated the gun. The local editor, who published the obituary got nothing.—Altoo na (Kan.) Tribune. Williams, of Eaton ton, has purchased the Rex thea ter and proposes to give Jackson the best and latest of everything in the movie world. He is a man of experience in this line and will put on shows that interest and attract any audience. Mr. Williams wants a name for his theater and the winner in the contest will be given a six months pass. Tickets will be deposited in a box at the theater and the contest will continue for about two weeks. Then three disinter ested parties will draw the name. Those desiring to enter the con test mav deposit tickets at the office. In his efforts to give the citi zens here good wholesome, clsan pictures Mr. Williams will doubt less receive a liberal support.
