The young people of Flovilla had quite a merry straw ride Tuesday evening. Misses Mary Ella and Annie Laurie Thomas, Nettie Florence and Vertie May Moore, of Jack son, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Lane and Mrs. Phoebe Maddox, of Monticello, last week. Mrs. A. F. White spent Mon day in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Ingram went to Villa Rica Sunday to at tend the funeral of their friend, Mrs. W. B. Candler, who was killed by a train Friday. Much interest is centered in the marriage of Mrs. E. B. Par tridge and Mr. J. H. Ham, which occurred at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon, Sept. 23 at 5:30 o’clock. The church was beautifully decorated with ferns, palms, white flowers, smilax and lighted tapers and the sweet strains of music rendered by Mrs. Lucy Douglas, on the piano, and Miss Emma Alice Johnson, on the violin, was in harmony with the impressive ceremony, said by Rev. Arthur Jackson. Mrs. Partridge looked attrac tive in her wedding dress of brown broadcloth with access ories to match and had for her only attendants on this happy occasion, four ushers, Messrs. W. A. Dozier, R. T. Smith, Otis Ham and George Manley. Mr. Jackson has been universally popular since he has had charge of the church and his hosts of friends are sor ry that he decided to make a change, yet all good wishes go with him for his future success.
