Why not a pay up day in Butts
county?
What has become of the big
circuses?
Be a-seeing you at the fair
next week.
We may be lynched for it. but
here goes: Shop early.
The Butts County Fair will be
an educational fair.
Fair time in Georgia. Nearly
every county is doing it.
All your friends will be at
the fair. Are you coming?
Don’t forget the dates—Oc
tober 19-22 four big days.
When the weather man pulls
one, it is usually a freak one.
Now is a good time to pay up
and start off with a clean slate.
Asa final reminder—have a
float in the big parade next Tues
day.
The second annual session of
the Butts County Fair will be
bigger and better.
Do you belong to the push-pull
gang that is working for the
community’s advancement?
Watch Butts county show up
well at the State Fair. Then on
to the Atlanta Harvest Festival.
Let’s capture that SI,OOO prize.
It is good to know that Butts
county will have an exhibit at
the State Fair. Butts county is
hitting her true stride these days.
Yet who ever thought that Sa.
vanah would wrangle over her
water supply? Thought the only
use they had for it was for bath
ing.
Beware of the fakirs that are
going up and down in the land.
Better patronize home institu
tions. It pays 100 per cent div
idends.
When you come to the fair
bring along a dollar for your pa
per. We need it and you will feel
better after discharging this ob
ligation.
Theie is one tiling about the
Wilson family. They believe in
working double. After marrying
off two of his daughters, the
President will soon take bride
number two.
The Corn Club boys and the
Canning Club girls are placing
Butts on top Don’t forget that.
They are doing more for the
permanent welfare of the county
than all the politicians put .to
gether.
AN EDUCATIONAL FAIR
In the sense that the Butts County Fair, which begins a four
days session next week, will pay particular attention to the work
of the county’s schools and serve to introduce the citizens to their
own resourcesandpossibilities.it may be called an Educational Fair.
It is well that the people come together once each year and
make a display or their products and learn more of their agricul
tural, commercial and manufacturing resources. We need to get
better acquainted with the p ssibilities of our county and our state.
Fairs of all kinds are great educators. This will be especially
true of the approaching Butts County Fair. A prominent part is
to be taken by the school children, the members of the Girls Can
ning Club and the Boys Corn Club. In the highest meaning of the
term this will be ilie best part of the whole fair.
The fair whicn opens next Tuesday will he bigger and better
than anything ever attempted here before. It will be a compre
hensive showing of the countv’s educational advancement, of its
agricultural resources and the possibilities in live stock, poultry,
manufacturing and industry.
Come. A warm welcome awaits you at Butts County’s great
Educational Fair.
“Why not let Judge Fite enjoin
the boll weevil from a further in
vasion of Georgia? asks the Jack
son Record. Weli, we hadn’t
thought of that, but have no ob
ject ions to interpose. If there is
anybody who can make B. Weevil
sorry he ever hit Georgia soil it
is the rambunctious jurist of the
Cherokee circuit. But after all
has been said, Judge Fite is an
able and conscientious man who
has decided convictions, and is
never afraid to uphold them. He
is invincible in his circuit. —Daw-
