Official Organ Butts County And the City of Jackson. Trade at home. Why not a pay up day in Butts county? What has become of the big circuses? Be a-seeing you at the fair next week. We may be lynched for it. but here goes: Shop early. The Butts County Fair will be an educational fair. Fair time in Georgia. Nearly every county is doing it. All your friends will be at the fair. Are you coming? Don’t forget the dates—Oc tober 19-22 four big days. When the weather man pulls one, it is usually a freak one. Now is a good time to pay up and start off with a clean slate. Asa final reminder—have a float in the big parade next Tues day. The second annual session of the Butts County Fair will be bigger and better. Do you belong to the push-pull gang that is working for the community’s advancement? Watch Butts county show up well at the State Fair. Then on to the Atlanta Harvest Festival. Let’s capture that SI,OOO prize. It is good to know that Butts county will have an exhibit at the State Fair. Butts county is hitting her true stride these days. Yet who ever thought that Sa. vanah would wrangle over her water supply? Thought the only use they had for it was for bath ing. Beware of the fakirs that are going up and down in the land. Better patronize home institu tions. It pays 100 per cent div idends. When you come to the fair bring along a dollar for your pa per. We need it and you will feel better after discharging this ob ligation. Theie is one tiling about the Wilson family. They believe in working double. After marrying off two of his daughters, the President will soon take bride number two. The Corn Club boys and the Canning Club girls are placing Butts on top Don’t forget that. They are doing more for the permanent welfare of the county than all the politicians put .to gether. AN EDUCATIONAL FAIR In the sense that the Butts County Fair, which begins a four days session next week, will pay particular attention to the work of the county’s schools and serve to introduce the citizens to their own resourcesandpossibilities.it may be called an Educational Fair. It is well that the people come together once each year and make a display or their products and learn more of their agricul tural, commercial and manufacturing resources. We need to get better acquainted with the p ssibilities of our county and our state. Fairs of all kinds are great educators. This will be especially true of the approaching Butts County Fair. A prominent part is to be taken by the school children, the members of the Girls Can ning Club and the Boys Corn Club. In the highest meaning of the term this will be ilie best part of the whole fair. The fair whicn opens next Tuesday will he bigger and better than anything ever attempted here before. It will be a compre hensive showing of the countv’s educational advancement, of its agricultural resources and the possibilities in live stock, poultry, manufacturing and industry. Come.
