Lest you forget—only twenty
nine days till Christmas.
Hate to trust the state road
with some legislators we know.
It is not a bit too early to shop
early.
The early advertiser gets the
holiday trade.
The capital news service of the
Macon Telegraph is the best sent
out from Atlanta.
Not that we want to resurrect
him, but wonder what has be
come of Hobson?
Blatant braver is Bryan. Cut
off the $250 per spiel and he will
shut up like a clam.
The new prohibition law ought
to be easy to enforce if the blind
tiger ean be handled.
Now is a good time to pay up
and get ready for Christmas by
making the other fellow happy.
Everybody seems disposed to
give the new prohibition law a
fair trial. That is fair enough.
Fellow from Clinch county to
run for governor on prohibition.
Like that wasn’t settled. Hang
him quick.
Now watch a lot of hypocritical
old grannies crawl on the prohi
bition band wagon and do a great
deal of shouting.
The Bibb county legislator who
said he would rather live in hell
than in Savannah ought to have
his own way about it.
No. Matilda. W. J. Bryan would
not draw well in Jackson. Asa
free attraction lie would be a
third-rater around here.
The ancient and honorable pot
licker, buttermilk and persim
mon beer came through without
a scar at the hands of the refor
mers.
Now comes a movement to let
the birds catch the boll weevil.
Just like Jim Price and Lee Wor
sham didn’t have a strangle hold
on the beast.
The Fitzgerald Press has gone
to the happy hunting ground.
Fitzgerald is a city of 5,795 pop
ulation (1910 census) but seems
unable to support two newspa
pers. They all find it out soon
er or later, that it is hard to make
two papers grow where there is
rbom for only one.

LINIMENT
Limited Amount Booze
It develops that an individual
cannot order a half gallon of whis
key, a gallon of wine and forty
eight bottles of beer each month,
under the new prohibition law,
but is limited to one of the three.
Section 16 of the anti-shipping
law makes that plain when it says:
That it shall be unlawful
for any person to receive (1)
more than one gallon of vin
ous liquor or (2) more than
six gallons (48) pints of mal
ted liquor or fermented li
quors, such as beer, lager
beer, ale, porter, or other fer
mented liquors, either in bot
tles or other receptacles, or
(3) more than two quarts of
spirituous liquor, etc.
Those who have been indulging
in the hope that they might order
the specified amount of whiskey,
wine and beer, each month, will
now have to content themselves
with one of the above.
If English sparrows could be
trained to eat boll weevils the
well known and much dreaded
boll weevii would have to go out
of busipesA.
A race for commissioner of
agriculture between Jim Price
and Pope Brown would make the
widely famous political fur fly in
various directions.
Now that Griffin is to enter
tain the 1916 meeting of the
North Georgia Conference the
poultry industry will doubtless
pick up over there right smartly.
LOCATING THE TROUBLE
When one is suffering from backache,
rheumatism, lumbago, biliousness,
sharp, pains, sore muscles and stifl
joints it is not always easy to locate
the source of trouble, but nine times
out often it can be traced to overwork
ed, weakened or diseased kidneys.

It Always Helps
says Mrs. Sylvania Woods, of Clifton Mills, Ky., In
writing of her experience with Cardui, the woman’s
tonic. She says further: “Before 1 began to use
Cardui, my back and head would hurt so bad, I
thought the pain would kill me. I was hardly able
to do any of my housework. After taking three bottles
of Cardui, I began to feel like anew woman. I soon
gained 35 pounds, and now, 1 do all my housework,
as well as run a big water mill.
1 wish every suffering woman would give
CARDUI
The Woman’s Tonic
a trial. I still use Cardui when I feel a little bad,
and it always does me good.”
Headache, backache, side ache, nervousness,
tired, worn-out feelings, etc., are sure signs of woman
ly trouble. Signs that you need Cardui, the woman’s
tonic. You cannot make a mistake in trying Cardui
for your trouble. It has been helping weak, ailing
women for more than fifty years.

There is a great deal of differ
ence between Thanksgiving
and a year ago. Surely the coun
try has something to be thankful
for this year.
What has become of the oid
fashioned man who used to tank
up every time he came to town
and declare he could whip any
mail in the world?
Unless all signs fail the fann
ers of Butts county will have
more food crops to their credit
next year than ever before in the
annals of the oldest inhabitant.
The conviction is growing
among the press and people of
the state that the department of
agriculture is a powerful political
machine and that it is hardly as
useful as it might be,
With nothing like as good a

lot of crowing. But then the
Macon fair is a permanent insti

ble in pulling off the second spasm.
