C, Millen returned Monday from Colquitt where she had been visiting for two weeks. She was accompanied home by her daughter, Mrs. B. H. Fudge, who will be her guest for several days. Mrs. T. J. Brown, of McDon ough, visited relatives here Mon day. Mrs. M. W. Wilson and Miss. Alberta Wilson, of McDonough, spent Tuesday in Flovilla. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Thompson had as their dinner guests Sun day Judge and Mrs. J. H. Ham. of Jackson. Mrs. John Allen Green, of Ma con, is spending this week with her sister, Mrs. Allie Vickers. Mr. W. A. Dozier went up to Jackson Tuesday evening to at tend the reception, of Mrs. Em ma Mallet, given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Mallet. Mrs. J. B. Ellis and children, i arrived Tuesday for a few days visit with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Thompson. Mr. T. G. Linch spent Tuesday in Atlanta. The many friends of Miss Fal ma Funderburk were sorry to learn of injuries she received Monday from a fall and wish for her a speedy recovery. Miss Estelle Nibbett will have charge of her school till she is able to re sume her duties; Miss Margaret Giles entertain ed pleasantly last Friday evening in honor of Miss Annie Reid Har per, of Jackson. Her guests in cluded the young ladies of the Saturday afternoon club, the young men of Flovilla, Miss Har per and Mr. Edgar McMichael. of Jackson. Prof. W. C. Patton resigned the principalship of the Flovilla High School last week and Miss Lucy Goodman, of Jackson, was elected to succeed him. Miss Goodman is an efficient and ex perienced teacher and her many friends are predicting success for her in her work. Mrs. Adaline Ammons suffered a stroke of paralysis last week and had the misfortune to fall in the fire and be burned; she con tinues quite ill, to the regret of her friends. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Mayo moved Tuesday, from Iron Springs, to the residence of the late W. F. Smith and will be cordially wel comed in our midst. Miss Emma Alice Johnson was called home last Friday because of the death of her father. Mr. E. M. Johnson. She was accom panied to Columbus by little Miss Dorothy Jewett who visited her aunt, Mrs. H. V. Hargett. Miss Johnson has proved herself wor thy and capable in every respect since coming here to accept a po sition as director of music in the Flovilla High School and has won a host of friends who sympathize with her deeply in her sorrow.
